So for alot of vertical shmups you have the option to have a vertical display mode, flipping the screen sideways. So i got a TV to have it on its side for Vertical Shmups like this. I got a Coax Splitter and have the signal from my VCR split to my TVs. But when I put either one sideways i get this weird color splotching effect.
It looks like this. Is there anyway to get it to stop it from doing that?
NES, SNES, PS1, N64, DC, PS2, GCN, Wii, PS3, 360, GB, GBC, GBA, GBA SP, PSP 3000, and 3DS XL
You have been haunted by the degausing effect or in this case a non working mode. TV at regular position keeps magnetic field at bay. Might try moving away from your game consoles and other electrical components.
I don't think you even need to move it actually, I believe most relatively modern TVs have degaussers which should fix the problem. I'm not entirely certain as to how the whole process works, but I know it can be done. Try checking on some arcade forums, or maybe shmups forums, they'd probably have some better info.
Consoles: Sega Master System, NES Toploader, Genesis/32X, Sega CDX, SNES, 3DO FZ-1, Sega Saturn, Nintendo 64, Sega Dreamcast, Sony PS2, Nintendo Gamecube, Xbox Halo Edition, Wii, PS3 Handhelds: Atari Lynx, Sega Nomad, Neo Geo Pocket Color, GBC (Atomic Purple, Pokemon Edition), GBA (Pink OG, Silver SP, Spongebob SP+), DS (Phat, iXL), 3DS, PSP (1000, Go)
I kinda like it on the other side of my room because then I can keep my atari 7800 and lava lamp where they are. Besides I only have like 10 or 15 or so games that actually support the vertical display so its all good. I just need to move my extension cord to a different outlet, but that is no biggie.
