I've heard time and again here how great Okami for PS2 is but I wasn't seriously looking for the game. I looked around online and the best I found was $29.99 plus shipping. I was browsing a local used game store and found a copy for $32.95. Oh a whim I decided to buy it since the price is about the same with shipping costs involved and by buying local if there are any problems at least I have an easy way to get help.
Given that the game seems not entirely common, I felt lucky to find a good copy so easy. As they were ringing it up it came up as $24.95! They regularly drop prices on slower selling games so no one argued about the price. I feel I got quite a bargain on what is supposed to be a great game.
You guys better be right!
In a bizarre way you guys saved me some money

I dont think you looked around quite long enough online because I got a sealed copy for $19.99 on Ebay with only $2 for shipping from the US to Canada without looking to hard about a week ago. You did however find a great deal. I wish I could find prices like that in town. Im forced to look online for decent game prices.

Halo shouldn't be classified as a game. It should go the same place that ET for atari or w/e went. If people supported games like this more often we'd see so much more creative stuff. But people don't so developers don't wanna take the risk of losing money and just come out with another plain old game with minor updates. One genre that is a perfect example for this is sports games. There have been some leaps over the past 20 years in this genre, but very few....and most were in the 90's (like Mutant League Football....best football game ever). I just wish that developers would realize there is a market for creative and innovative games, but they just need to be willing go take the risk.peace4myheart wrote:Damn you Halo Fan!!! It's all dollars and cents my friend. Especially nowaday with high production costs for a game, there is no room for error (i.e. Atari). If I were a gamer and creator who could do anything (i.e. Clover Studio), then yeah, I would go for innovation and take the risk. However, if I were a publisher (i.e. evil EA), then I would go for the safest route with the highest rewards. I can't blame them completely for the eventual death of innovative game. No, it is partly the gamers' fault as well. Yeah, they can cry when they finally had enough of Madden or Halo and its derivatives and there is nothing else out there to play. If gamers were smarter, and they should be, then they should demand more from their games and not just a shiny new box with a new number and picture on the front (i.e. Madden). Unfortunately, I don't see that happening any time soon. Oh well, I just don't understand Americans and their appetite for sport. I mean I kinda understand FPS due to man's innate nature toward violence and aggression. Perhaps it is a rite of passage in our culture for a boy to become a man, but whatever. I don't hate Madden and I don't hate Halo or other WII FPS. However, I just hope gamers demand more for their hard earn dollars. WISE UP PEOPLE!!!

Dear Internet,
Why must we have to hear this anti-Halo blabber in every corner of the you? Whether or not you like the game, to say it's "OMG! Worst game ever!", shows nothing but irrationality. I'll agree that the market is saturated with FPS games, but the fact that Halo stands out says a lot. It's a good series and guess what? It's ok to like both Halo and Okami! Seriously, the "too cool for Halo" shit is old.
And can we stop blaming Microsoft for "lack of creativity" in the market? Please internet, can we do that? If anything, you should be concerned with Nintendo's "win button" philosophy.
Not so much love,
Flak Beard
P.S. I bought Okami at release for full price. If you want to make an impact on the market when it comes to creative games, you can't wait until they hit the bargain bin. How's that for Halo fan?
