If you're in the United States and want to watch, most games are aired on the NBCSports Channel. The commentary is decent in comparison to the coverage we had on ESPN for the World Cup.

So if you're a fan of the Gunners, Spurs, The Red Devils, the Blues, or even the Baggies, share in the discussion for the best league in the world.

I get the feeling this is going to be the "Blu and Sload talk football" thread.

Happy with City's performance. Little spells where I thought Newcastle could get back in but they never really created a proper clear cut chance and we punished them for it. Aguero's goal was like a FIFA 10 goal.

It's a bit early to make judgments but I did think United were pretty poor and on that showing will have as torrid a time as last season. The amount of arse-licking the press have been doing to Van Gaal has been embarrassing so it was nice to see that particular balloon deflated so early. Phil Jones and Smalling proved they aren't even Premier League class never mind international. Young English talent, eh?

Elsewhere The Arse and Liverpool ground out wins which is ominous while Everton showed signs of why they aren't ever title contenders. Spurs are still being spurs. I was impressed by Southampton even though they lost and Hull and Villa grabbed good away wins. And Crystal Palace seem to have guaranteed their relegation before a ball was even kicked by sacking Pulis. Staggering stupidity from their preening yuppy of a chairman.

How do you see the season ending up, Blu? Can Arsenal finally end their drought?

It's the simple pleasures in life.

I thought it was a good weekend to start it off. Manchester City played very well. Chelsea won against a recently promoted Burnley team, who was very good defensively in the Championship.

I'd love to see Arsenal end the drought. It'll be nice once Mertesacker and Ozil show up this next weekend, and when Walcott rejoins us come September. Then I think we'll see the same level of play we saw, something like this:


But yeah, Crystal Palace shouldn't have scored on us. I think we're working out the kinks. Giroud needs to get in form and fitness.

I'd love to see Manchester United continue to struggle, and I don't think a 3-5-2 is what should be played right now, to be honest. Especially when Mata doesn't like to play defense.

All in all, a good first week. I left Siggurdson on my bench for Fantasy this weekend, that was a missed opportunity.

As a Spurs fan, I was very pleased with a 1-0 win over the scum, I mean Hammers. Especially with 10 men. As much as I find Naughton to be a liability, he was harshly treated with that red card decision.

Good opening weekend overall. Chelsea are going to be the team to stop, which is annoying as my wife and her family are Chelsea fans. Hoping Spurs can get a cup run under their belts this season, as we usually just quietly get kicked out of the FA Cup and Europa League. We can certainly win either of those and I'd be ecstatic with that. Getting in to the Champions League a few years back was great fun (seeing Real Madrid at the Lane was an incredible experience) but I'd rather we won a trophy than battled against the Goons for 4th place again. I'm hoping Pocchetino can bring back the exciting brand of football we are known for.
