Another reason to dislike Bay.
How about trashing his own movies, lol. My wife was watching E! News the other night, and I heard Bay talking about what terrible Armageddon was...which he made.
Get this...He retracted that statement and said he didn't "apologize" for it.
So he trashes wrestling first of all, and he proves that he's really the one who needs to grow up with that statement in the first place. Some people don't understand irony. He's probably the biggest child in Hollywood and his movies show that.

So, how about some talk about TNA? I see pretty much only discussion about WWE. Is anyone here watching TNA currently?

I think TNA has a lot of good things going for it right now, and I prefer TNA over the completely predictable and childish product WWE gives us nowadays.

-Bully Ray. Best villain in wrestling today. WWE's villains are a bunch of freaking whiners. Bully Ray is a bad-ass villain, an old-school villain. And I'm eating it up. Even if the rest of Aces & Eights are mostly nobodies, Bully Ray is the diamond in the rough.

-The Aces & Eights storyline. Yeah, individually, most of these guys suck. No doubt about it. But as a group, Aces & Eights are pretty effective. They're doing the nWo thing, but unlike most of all the other nWo copies, Aces & Eights are doing it right. And instead of paying huge salaries to make the team, TNA are smart as hell by putting a bunch of guys together that normally wouldn't bring in money on their own, but as a group are keeping people watching the show.

-Austin Aries & Bobby Roode. These two guys are the best guys on TNA's roster, bar-none. And together, they're fantastic. They play off of each other perfectly and keep me laughing when they're talking. And in the ring, nobody is better in TNA or WWE than these two, IMO.

-Bad Influence (Daniels & Kazarian). These guys are great. They put on a good match, and they play the arrogant bad guys perfectly. Plus, as a comic book fan and metal-head, I get a lot their jokes that a lot of other people might not get. I'd love it if A.J. Styles ends up rejoining them.

-Gut Check. Love seeing all the new guys and indie-guys come through in this segment. I really don't follow the indie scene at all, as I have enough other hobbies to follow to get that much into wrestling. So this is my taste of some of the cream of the crop coming from that part of wrestling.

On a related note: I actually recognized one of the guys in a recent Gut Check. I don't remember what they called him. But when I saw him at a local indie show, he was going by Jason Styles. Bald white guy with a goatee and mustache, looks to be in his 30s. Muscly, but small and lean. He was the main-event for the local indie-show, and did pretty damn good, IMO. But he didn't pass his Gut Check, unfortunately.

But at the same time, my favorite part of TNA, the X-Division, has gone to shit. Every single week it's a just a mass chaos with multiple X-Division stars in the ring, and nobody stands out.

I NEVER SAID I LIKE FANDANGO!!!

I said he's OVER and he's gotten lots of mainstream media attention (something which you apparently are oblivious to which is why I said you're clueless). Therefore, the WWE should consider turning him face because it's good business. LEARN TO READ!!!

If you actually DID read my posts, it's pretty obvious that I'm not a Fandango fan and don't understand why he's gotten so much attention

We're pretty much at the halfway mark through the year. So it seems like a good time to reminisce on how the year has gone.

Who do you think, so far, is wrestler of the year material?

I really want to say Bobby Roode or Austin Aries, as they're the best wrestlers in TNA (or WWE for that matter). But they've been a team effort lately, not individual stars. So I guess they aren't really in the runnings.

So then, I pick Bully Ray.

The guy has been given the ball at TNA, and he has ran with it. I thought the Dudley Boys splitting up was one of the dumbest decisions TNA has ever made. But Bully has proven me wrong. He's the best heel in wrestling today, no doubt. A strong heel, not a coward heel, something that seems to be a rarity nowadays.

It's too bad Devon hasn't done the same, though.

On the WWE side of things...

Daniel Bryan

With all due respect to Punk and Ziggler, DB is FREAKING OVER!!! People love him. He's amazing in the ring too, and man nobody makes the most of a hot tag in a tag team match like him. The roof comes off a place when he gets tagged into a match. If I could pick one guy on the roster to hand Cena's spot too at this specific point in time it would be him.

Runners Up:

Ziggler - Nobody sells like he can, and he takes insane bumps. This guy will die for your sins in the ring.
CM Punk - His matches with The Undertaker and Cena this year were very good. The Raw match with Cena in particular is a classic and better than the excellent, but overrated Taker match at Mania.

Team of the Year:

The Shield, easily. Pretty much no competition there. In fact, every single thing the WWE has done with them is better than everything TNA has done with Aces and Eights. Believe in The Shield!

Daniel Bryan and Ziggler easily top my list. They're two of the hardest workers in the ring and get over better than most. I'm looking forward to seeing how Curtis Axel fairs. I hate what they did with his name, but as a Hennig I'm hoping he has some of his father's talent.

As for DB, tonight's 3v3 is a great example of how well he works and gets a crowd fired up. That match was hype!

Raw can be pretty brutal but the Daniel Bryan / Shield stuff is well worth seeking out. The Hell No vs. Shield tag matches they've been having have eclipsed 4 stars a lot of times too. ON FREE TV!

This is fascinating to me that Racketboy has so many WWE style wrestling fans. It didn't fit in my mind of something you guys would like.

I catch them on tv every now and again and it just seems like a macho soap opera heh.

^ I like following the Ring of Honor stuff. Mainly find myself watching old DVDs (the In Your House Blu-ray collection they just put out is great)
