I've never really understood the "clutter" thing. Is it like the My Documents folder is to messy and needs to have sub-directories of music, videos, etc...?

I just figure if there are multiple posts it will take what 1 to 2 days until it reaches a couple pages deep in the new posts section. Also people typically only carry on with one of the repeated threads, thus the topic not even showing up in the new posts section in a day or two.

Also long threads suck imo. Who wants to backtrack through pages of discussion to find something out? If someone has a question answer it and move on (once again if somethings answered it should move of the new posts section fairly quickly). Not to mention information can be outdated.

Just b/c you don't think it's relevant and has been discussed before, if there are 4,5,6 people discussing something why is it a big deal? They want to discuss it let em.... If it nobody else joins in it will move into the oblivion.

I guess what I'm trying to say is it will take care of itself. If the users want to reply/discuss the topic it will stay in the new posts section and if not it will fade away.

If you have to tell somebody 3 or 4 times in a row to do something I'm pretty sure you would get a little peeved as well.

What I don't think people understand is that they may complain that people aren't following 'forum etiquette' but they don't have to clean the aftermath up. We do. Yet judging from this thread, we're the ones getting the flack. This forum would be a complete mess if it wasn't for the stellar job the moderation team carry out here. I'm not tooting my own horn here, I really do think the rest of the moderation team do a great job and that was long before I joined the team.
I do see Moderators are constantly tied up to never ending task of fixing similar threads Bump here, bump there boy the road is rough.

SEARCHING, VIEWING NEW POSTS and ADD REPLY instead of creating a similar new post would help everyone trying to find out about a certain topic.

A thought to maybe help keep forums more organized and reduce repeats. No not a ton of stickies either.

The first screen comes up when Racketboy is opened that has the highest exposure. I think a lot of people tend do make a new post to get that more exposure rather then simply going to View New Posts which are in chronological order.

Perhaps another section on the http://www.racketboy.com/ Front page Maybe newest 10 Replies of existing posts or at even go as far as first day or two of Newest Replies separate (if possible) of New Posts.

Plus a click to that newest reply could jump you that page not the first page of that older topic.

Then maybe this will encourage everyone to (which should be done anyways)
ADD REPLY instead of creating new posts of similar Topic.

Lets not forget all the new people that want to look cool and post in threads for no real reason about nothing at all. I have made several posts and seen people bump their nose in that are not helping the topic what so ever. Send a pm if you have something to say that has NO meaning what so ever other than to raise your post count. If you want to be a post whore goto a board that stands for just that...posting a bunch of bullshit no one cares about.

ALOT of people that have joined as of late have posted stuff that does NOT matter WHAT so ever to gaming AT ALL. Like now..."How Tall Are You"...I dont give a shit how tall ANYONE is unless there is a new game that will look at me and judge me then pick how good I should be at basketball.

Before moz left one thing he did post about, or atleast made a great point in...was:

This is a GAME FORUM, why waste peoples time posting CRAP. Go post somewhere else. Its a waste of my time and anyone else that joins to actually read about games, game related, game music, SOMETHING GAME.
Yep, I know im the one ya love to hate.

This guy right here is the reason this forum has problems. He is one of the worst users on this forum constantly acting like a keyboard warrior always either starting shit or talking shit. Putting his 2 sense on things just because he wants to. He's the first one that will let you know you're doing wrong. It's guys like this that need to change or GTFO.

No I am just blunt and sick of having to read stupid shit. But agree I have been debating on leaving this forum for a long time due to fuck heads, and honestly have no problem with that.

It was nice being away from the forum, atleast then I didnt have to deal with dribble 24/7 that had NOTHING to do with games on a fucking game related website.

So...if you really have something to say, feel free to contact me and bitch and moan other wise you can fuck off like anyone else.

Ty.

ADD REPLY instead of creating new posts of similar Topic.
Perfect example of what I just suggested.

Sony Fat PS3' error announcement.
http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19676

Then another new post of same topic.
http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19683

Because of the importance topic, it does need to stay on the primary page, and the only way to do it is to create a new post.

A Front primary page Listing latest NEW REPLIES to older post would help in this case.

@ crt...I like your idea, and hopefully someone fallows it...but being as I am just an asshole that ruins the forum I am out. Hope you didnt take my last message as a stab at you or anything. If anything you were a good member that had plenty to say that was always on par and great to read. Enjoy the forums. Maybe you can help clean it up...I never could. Enjoy.

Sometimes off topic conversation can be fun. There have been off topic threads since I joined this forum. If there are too many then, yes, it is annoying. If they are too absurd then, yes, it is annoying. I don't, however, see anything bad about straying from video games here and there. I thought that was what the "whatever" section was for. Plus, every now and then, a gem comes up that new and old members get in to. Back to the movies you have seen thread, I would say the fact that this thread has gotten to be so huge would hint that maybe not every member minds straying from video games now and then. I believe Mozgus would take part in these off topic threads now and then also, including the one where members posted pics of themselves. I think Racket posted in that one also.

Are you sure that EVERYONE has an issue with straying from video games sometimes or is it just you and a small number of others? If you aren't interested, then don't click on it. Again, I do think too many junk posts is unacceptable, but we all seem to enjoy talking to each other and not just talking about how great our collection or what we are selling or buying or playing. So an off topic post is to be expected here and there. Maybe that makes this forum different from others and maybe that is not for everyone, but I consider it a strength. This is probably why I trust everyone on this site when it comes to buying or selling or getting advice.
