Re: The "True/Spiritual successor to the Sega Saturn is.....

In my opinion, the 360 was far too popular, and far too broad in genres to fit for me. Even more so with the PS2, which was so wildly successful with nearly every genre known to man covered that it much more fits as the successor to... well, the PS1. The Switch is perhaps too popular as well, and th...

Re: December Together Retro - Robots Fighting Robots!

Popping in to acknowledge the awesomeness that is Gun Hazard. In my mind, it absolutely takes the crown as the best SNES game we never officially got in English.

Yeah, apparently. I wasn't expecting it that soon myself.

Re: November Together Retro: Working Designs

I remember it also feeling kind of difficult, and I was playing the Japanese version, so I'm kind of curious if it had the usual difficulty tweaks made by Working Designs when it came out over here. Yep, it did. Mostly, everything takes a lot more hits than the Japanese version, and a ton of bosses...

Romancing SaGa 3 gets a Western release on November 11th. It feels a little pricey at $28.99, but then again, brand new release for us.

Re: Games Beaten 2019

Skyward Sword was advertised as "the overworld areas are dungeons", and it shows. That's the best part, in my opinion. I'm much more a fan of the dungeons than anything, so having it be "oops, all dungeons" was a blast. I even enjoyed the little bit of poking around in the sky a...

Re: Rate the series - Mega Man

Rockman 7 FC is splendid. I don't think MM7 is terrible, of course, but the demake improves it substantially.

Re: Rate the series - Mega Man

If there is one thing I'd change about the Mega Man NES soundtracks, it's to add more bass to them. I love the way Konami's, Tecmo's, Sunsoft's, and Natsume's best tracks bring it with excellent use of either the PCM channel or awesome manipulations to get some heavy bass.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"

I recently pulled down my VB, and one of the eyes is screwing up now. Thanks, Nintendo, for gluing instead of soldering those cables in place.

Re: Rate the series - Mega Man

I thought we were just doing the main series. I didn't include the Rockman World games... but I can. I played a bit of the Game Gear port, and thought it was okay? It didn't seem bad at all to me. Not optimal sure, especially with the zoomed in screens, but it plays alright. Anyway, the Game Boy gam...
