I've seen a pen hack used to get around the security bit (pull the writing end out, heat with a lighter or gas stove, let it melt a little and then smash it on.). It was Wolfenstein 3D for me. Shortly after that came Doom, then Quake (I actually went to the computer store to pick up the Shareware version of it the day it came out for $9.95 since I did not have a net connection back then lol).

My favorite hidden gem on the Genesis would have to be Cool Spot. Who would have ever thought that a game with the 7-Up mascot tie in would actually turn out to be good? :shock:

I would have to say Rez. I had not played this game until a couple of days ago, because it was never released in the US on the Dreamcast. I do not know if it is really a hidden gem or not, but it blew me away with its originality and game play.
