Re: Venting a bit about a dropped deal
I think age/financial status has alot to do with it sometimes. For instance, if this was a teenager without a job (or a minimum wage job), I could see them wanting every last penny out of it. On the other hand, an adult with a career wouldn't even want the hassle of going back and forth between buye...

Re: The Ethics of Emulation
I have long stood fast in the opinion that pirating=/=stealing, period. Stealing is taking an actual product without paying for it, which hurts the store selling that good. On the other hand, piracy can only hurt a company if "lost profits" are involved. This, however, is subjective. I sai...

Re: Demanding games to test emulators with?
Any game released late in a lifecycle would be the obvious choice. My benchmarks may not be the heaviest titles but they are as follows: NES - Mario 2 - mostly because I know the timing in it so well and come on its an NES emulator. SNES - Fzero and Mario RPG Genesis - Sonic 3 N64 - Perfect Dark or...

Re: GBA WiFi a missed opportunity?
when the GBA came out, even laptops barely used Wi-Fi. Even if they did, they needed big ass adapters that were half the size of a GBA by themselves. Nintendo needed to wait until the technology was small enough to integrate into the system.

Re: Need For Speed 3DO Question
My copy of the game came with the 3DO I bought, and it was disc-only. Oh well, at least you have it! I was completely addicted to that game in about 1995. Making a multi-car pile up at the bridge on the alpine course was tons of fun! I'm pretty sure it is 1-player only though. Try some old Gamepro ...

Re: Which is the Best Way to play NES games....
Nestopia+composite video out of your PC+USB NES pad (or my preference: USB Sega Saturn pad)+complete ROM set=done or, for the maximum of cheap routes, you could get a Dreamcast with a controller, hookups, and VMU from eBay for ~$25 shipped and burn a disc of Nester DC 6. Not a bad way to go for the ...

Re: Does the 32x do damage to original Genesis games?
the short answer: no. I have, however, noticed that some Genesis-eses like to be prima donnas and not work properly with Knuckles Chaotix. I tried 2 different 32Xs on my model 2 Genesis and neither one would work, yet it worked fine on a friend's model 2. I later got a Model 1 and the appropriate ad...

Re: Did they ever make an action replay for Dreamcast?
I would see if this strikes your fancy first: m it's a disc containing shit tons of VMU saves, possibly some with cheats enabled. Also, rather than spend money on a cheat cd that has long been out of production (and thus developers aren't missing out), google "dreamcast cheat cd" and click...

How to play the Shooter level in Segagaga!!
I posted this at Sega-16 already, but the word needs to get out: HOOOLY SHIT! Wanna play the awesome shooter section of Segagaga? I FIGURED IT OUT!!! (gameplay video, not mine) m What you'll need: homebrew capable DC (manufactured ?on? or before October 2000) working VMU (OK if batteries are dead) c...
