Re: Game collecting is not what it once was

On a side note, I don't understand how a game like Shantae for GB Colour is so expensive!? Is there really someone willing to pay $200 for a CIB version of it? Or Dracula X.. Its insane, especially since the latter has been ported! There are only either 15,000 Shantae carts that sold (or produced, ...

Re: Game collecting is not what it once was

Exactly how much less should a cart only copy be than a CIB copy? As for the price increase, I expect prices to continue to increase because the finite supply will keep dropping. You can remove every single reseller from the equation and the price is going to go up. Probably twice for cib unless fo...

Re: Game collecting is not what it once was

I still don't understand how someone's logic can be so immature. THE STATSTIC IS USELESS UNLESS YOU ARE COMPARING BRAND NEW SEALED GAMES. Do you understand now? If not I suggest reading it again, and then repeating if problems persist. Ridiculous = price increase over a short amount of time, not the...

Re: Game collecting is not what it once was

I suggest you catalog every Snes(which you used in this case, completely unrelated to my examples) game that is new and sealed, and its sold price with an average of 10 sold to create a reliable datapoint, then you would have a good set of data. No. I'll suggest people understand things are worth w...

Re: Game collecting is not what it once was

A 400% increase in a loose copy of a game in 3 years is a bit dramatic, unless you disagree, of course. Edit: Oh wow I can get a used copy of a game with a broken sticker, no case or manual for only HALF the cost of what a brand new copy used to cost, adjusted to inflation! I'm so privileged! I dis...

Re: Game collecting is not what it once was

I'm pretty sure if you wanted to buy new copies of snes games, that number wouldn't be quite right. And why does the original price of the games matter? I'm comparing this to late 2000's to early 2010's, you know when racketboy had the most traffic. A 400% increase in a loose copy of a game in 3 yea...

Re: Game collecting is not what it once was

I stopped playing/collecting from about early 2012 to late 2014, and returning I've noticed they prices of any first party or well received game is ridiculous. I remember buying ducktales 2 (loose) for 50 dollars in 2011, and even then I was somewhat overpaying. Looking at completed auctions its abo...

Re: Steve Jobs has died

Wait so people are surprised by his death? He had been sick with pancreatic(or whatever) cancer for several years, and had a liver transplant and got thinner every year, and he recently resigned as CEO.
