Re: Board Games: The Thread (Come say hi!)

I wanted to play Puerto Rico for a long time before finally having a chance, and had enjoyed several "related" games where action selection played a big part. When the chance finally arrived, I enjoyed it much less than I had hoped. Part of that might be because the rest of the table had p...

Re: How do you feel about men wearing cargo shorts?

Funny thing about style: man makes the clothes instead of the other way around.

(Ok, not entirely true. But if you are buying well-made clothes with proper fit then it's more accurate than any damn fashion article would have you believe.)

Re: NES Classic

I've also got my fingers crossed for an SNES mini. The NES mini doesn't do a lot for me because most of those games I already own in one format or another - but SNES would probably have a lot of games I'm missing... Fingers crossed. At this point, we don't even know how good the quality of NES mini ...

Re: Playstation Vita thread

Oh, nice! I'd be up for Shiren.
Can anyone confirm it's PSTV compatible? I saw a report that suggested "yes", but wasn't sure how accurate that is.

Re: Nes mini vs sega mini console wars? Lmao

The thing that has had me pissed off on the subject is that sega announced the 25th sonic edition like they are putting this system up and not at games after the nes said they were releasing the mini. For years sega we have had the crappy plug n plays before and you said nothing. And now Nintendo t...

Re: Nes mini vs sega mini console wars? Lmao

I'm not as down on this console as it will probably sound, and the price is hard to argue with... but half the games aren't "real" Genesis games and instead are just homebrew, the cartridge slot isn't compatible with all games (although it is with many/most), the sound emulation is pretty ...

Re: Wii-U thoughts so far

I've only played the sequel, but based on that experience none of your complaints sound out of place to me. Mediocre Zelda clone with some issues is actually right in line with my expectations - but at $20 on a relatively game-starved console where I already own the sequel, that is ok in my books. I...

Re: Wii-U thoughts so far

Darksiders has been announced for a retail release on the Wii U and will apparently be sold for $20. I've never played this so I'm looking forward to it. I have it on Steam, but haven't played yet... would much rather have the convenience of a console release, so this is good news to me. Was there ...

Re: Too early to start talking about rare/valuable Wii games

So picked up a couple of games today: found copies of Oregon Trail and Family Game Night Fun Pack for $5 CAD each, and thought that was pretty awesome. Oregon Trail I wanted because of nostalgia and being kind of a cool retro remake on Wii. Family Game Night is less appealing to me - I love board ga...

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"

Nabbed The Oregon Trail and Family Game Night Fun Pack (both on Wii) for a combined $10 CAD. Seems like a solid deal based on the average prices online, and both games seem like they'll be good additions to my sizable Wii library. Not sure if I'll keep Family Game Night though - might play with my k...
