I bought it. The game has always been this difficult. R-Type Dimensions is very faithful to the original, but guys who played and beat the original arcade will notice slight differences.

The fighter speed is very fast to give you a chance to react and move out of the way of bullets you didn't expect, something most shmups deny you of, which we've always found frustrating. No release date yet, sorry. We're still revamping the boss weapon system, and making multi-stage enemies. We're thinking about releasing the game with the renaming of Community Games to Indie Games. We'll be talking to Microsoft about a possible promotion of our game with this update. If that happen...

He did the voice work. While not perfect, I think he did a decent job (better than what we would have done). We thought about hiring someone professional... maybe we will next time. :)

You are right that most often you desire full spread or full laser. I bet most people will use only these. However, I think the experts will make use of the addition hybrid modes. I routinely use a spread/laser hybrid especially during multidirectional mode to ease the need of aiming. Sometimes the spread is so wide that I compress some of it into a laser, since I don't need to shoot things directly to the side, and those bullets are better used shooting forward, and killing ...

My suggestion is to have the right trigger/bumper switch to whichever fire mode is the most useful "default", which I'm guessing is the spread. You generally want to map the right hand shoulder stuff to default fire, since that's the standard. The biggest mistake you can make when develop...
