Re: Old Racketboy Mod chips - are they still in demand at al
I would say it's easier to just use the modded carts that have room for saves and be done with it. Never could get my racketboy mod chip to work on my model 1 back in the day. I seem to remember Model 1s having some issues with the OG modchips, as well as some of the Model 2s with the PC Trap board...

Old Racketboy Mod chips - are they still in demand at all?
I just recently put a Phoebe in my Saturn (today, in fact) and I've got one of the old Racketboy mod chips that I no longer need. I know there's the Phantom now, and this one is essentially obsolete with MODE/Phoebe/Fenrir/Satiator(LOLOL), but I dunno if there are any people like me who didn't want ...

Re: Samurai Shodown RPG in English (NOT an announcement!)
I just wish there was a tool of some sort to inject whatever text needed. Id be happy to wade through the entire script and inject it. To use an analogy, you're saying that you wish you could put a large hole in an arbitrary wall of your house. And maybe you can; might turn out that wall is not loa...

Re: Samurai Shodown RPG in English (NOT an announcement!)
I am not helpful at all. I feel like Samurai Shodown RPG is a cursed game as far as translation goes. As you said, it's been started and abandoned many times, despite being on 3 different systems. I'd still like to see it happen one day (any or all 3 versions), but I gave up on it years ago. It wil...

Re: Samurai Shodown RPG in English (NOT an announcement!)
I mean, I get the difficulty of hacking English/Spanish characters into a spot where Japanese characters are originally. Spacing, formatting, blocking, sure. But my argument is this: If the 'hacking' for the Japanese characters to be replaced by Western (A-Z, 1-0 !?, etc) characters is already comp...

Re: Samurai Shodown RPG in English (NOT an announcement!)
Maybe try and contact the person or teams responsible for the Spanish and French translations and ask them if they would help insert an English script. Since they already did the ROM hacking part, maybe it wouldn't be too difficult if someone else gave them the English script? Yeah, I did a while b...

Samurai Shodown RPG in English (NOT an announcement!)
Sorry for the title, I just didn't want to unintentionally mislead anyone into thinking there was a project going on this or that I was announcing anything. But here's the deal, the NeoGeo CD original is apparently the "definitive" version of the game. It's been translated into French, as ...

Re: SatConv.exe alternative (not interested in PseudoKai)
There's Saturn Region Patcher v3.0 Gold Edition. I've last used it on Windows Vista or 7, but it probably works on 10 too. Alternatively, you can use a hex editor to patch the region of a disc image. More info in this post: http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=23524&hilit=bur...

Re: SatConv.exe alternative (not interested in PseudoKai)
Just off the top of my head, the first thing I would try is setting up windows XP in a virtual machine. Maybe virtual box or VMware. Alternatively, you could get an old laptop or desktop and install windows XP on that. Once you have WinXP running, you should be able to run satconv.exe Word to the w...
