Yea Begotten is one of those types of films that gore hounds watch because of how many lists of disturbing films it's on, yet they find it boring most of the time. The Joker sequel was a pleasant surprise. I felt like it was a nice deconstruction of the first part to the point that it felt like a middle finger to it, and it had a better deep dive into mental illness. It might also be how the director felt about Hollywood itself by making something so postmoder...
