Re: Gameboy Color prosound- anyone try it?

Then I read this reddit thread: m It looks like all of these amplifiers are only mono and only for the GBC speaker... That kinda sucks. Here's some detail on the prosound with noise filtering caps: m I didn't know about the noise filtering caps. Thanks for that. And nice to actually hear it in acti...

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts

[*]First 3D platformer done right. It was mind boggling to see Mario run in 3D worlds in the castle and jumping in paintings for levels. I am not sure if this hub model has been done before. The game overall was perfect blend to create the greatest Mario WORLD experience. gameplay butter smooth. I ...

Re: Cables and Cable Management Today

OK, that cable management is pretty awesome. Also love the wire shelf idea. Helps the consoles breathe, too, I imagine. FOR SURE. I've used a lot of different furniture for consoles in the last 20 odd years. Before the wire racks, I had a cabinet with doors on it (trying to hide the systems when no...

Gameboy Color prosound- anyone try it?

I have a couple gameboy colors that I've been modifying. One of the things I've realize since playing a good chunk of mario golf on them is an annoying HUM that comes out of the headphones. It is absolutely brutal. I've been searching around for a way to get rid of it. People do 'prosound' mods on t...

Re: How many of you are actually still using CRT TVs?

I just drove 6 hours to pickup my first pvm. I'm pretty stoked on it. I haven't had a crt in the house in probably 15 years.

Re: Cables and Cable Management Today

I use wire racks for a few reasons, but one of them is because of the cable management. To avoid the rat's nest, everything is contained and managed on the rack. Its on wheels, so you can turn it for a solid viewing angle or move it around for shorter cord stuff like using the sega saturn mouse or l...

Re: Should we all be buying 1440p monitors?

But at the end of the day, if you're upscaling a 240p image to 1080p or higher you're not actually going to really notice a difference between 1080p being not an even multiple by 1440p being an even multiple. The base graphical fidelity limits you. It's like how in real life there isn't a magic enh...

Re: Should we all be buying 1440p monitors?

Everything is slow right now because of the chip shortage.

But yeah- I think, for 480p/720p console gaming, the 1440p monitor and retrotink 5x are going to be king.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts

But I also had to give up Hollow Knight because I didn't have the time, skill, or manual dexterity to get past one particular spot. But I totally would savestate through that spot if I could. The game is so compelling in other ways. I had the same experience with hollow knight but I don't think I'd...

Re: Should we all be buying 1440p monitors?

Yeah I think 1080p works perfectly for pcs right now. You don't need more than that yet.
