Re: What to love about Modern gaming

It's 'Chanspeak'. Here's one link that explains a bit about it but is not in English, you can use Google Translate to get the gist of it though. I don't know why this particular user was using it in this particular context, but if I had to guess, whoever was hired/responsible for these Linage shilli...

Re: The end of physical media & dedicated hardware: Inevitab

I was referring to their AMD partnership, to how it will affect them making any dent in the dedicated PC build market. The dedicated PC build market is huge (as the millions of dollars spend of GPU's every year indicate, and that was before bitcoin farming) and especially for competitive online gami...

Re: The end of physical media & dedicated hardware: Inevitab

There's also the matter of internet stability and latency which is paramount for game streaming, but not that important for digital distribution. Stadia in particular has further issues to limit its affect with the public, for one, is Google's partnership with AMD, which means games will essentially...

Re: The end of physical media & dedicated hardware: Inevitab

I think it is the inevitable future that is dawning upon is. I don't think it will be as close as 15-20 years though, but closer to 50 (considering we don't blow up the entire planet by then). The internet infrastructure to make this method of distribution, a global reality doesn't exist yet. Is har...

Re: PS1 UniROM Softmodding

The PSIO Switch is actually harder than a normal Hard Mod to implement, as you mentioned, but it does have additional functionality, not something I would consider using though. I got all the equipment necessary to try the UniROM softmod already, but I don't want to mess up either of my Xplorer card...

PS1 UniROM Softmodding

I was wondering if anyone here has any personal experience with softmodding their PS1 with a UniROM by essentially flashing an Action Replay device and using it on an older PS1 model with a Parallel Port. I'm specifically looking into this option for three reasons. 1. Fast and easy region bypass, so...

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?

So I finally watched Brazil. The parallels one can draw from this film, to certain things happening in our society today can be downright terrifying. I don't think the film was trying to be as prescient in the late 2010's (or any time after its making) as it came to be, and though clearly inspired b...

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts

Didn't know where else to post this. But Sega is running a survey to ask people for some of their forgotten series, including Phantasy Star (Online and old-school), Shining and even Jet Set Radio. There's also questions about Yakuza, Bayonetta and Valkyria Chronicles from the series that still get s...

Re: What are you playing?

Pokémon Go I was finally able to evolve one of my Shiny Meltan's into a Shiny Melmetal, but my second (normal) Melmetal that I plan to move onto the Eevee version of Let's Go, is a long time away. Now that the Mystery Box has moved to every 8 days again, I estimate around two months worth of Myster...
