Certainly, they existed, those blinded by ambition.

Re: DOSBox Guide - Run DOS Games in Windows

I've had more luck with PCEM than with DOSBox. It's closer to emulating my 20 year old PC. You set up your config and a motherboard BIOS, and from that point it's as if you are dealing with an old machine, including things like needing to install DOS and tweak autoexec.bat and installing games from ...

Re: Anyone know how the Segagaga translation is coming along

I remember the first posts about this project about 13 years ago. They still haven't produced anything, so I wouldn't hope for anything to come out of this.

It's not an ODE, it's something far more complex. Closer to a HD Loader.

Re: Slight interference on video output after PSU replaced

And actually, it's not 12V on PAL, but 9. At least that's what the original PSU board says. IIRC the Fujitsu ones use 9V and the Matsushita ones use 12V. As for the 16:9 thing, to be honest I don't really think it's an issue, because the CRT I'm using has a force aspect ratio function. So I can cha...

Re: Slight interference on video output after PSU replaced

The 9V pin on PAL Model 2 saturns (it is actually 12V there) is used to provide voltage for the SCART cables RGB Switch pin. In the absence of that pin in the power supply, the SCART cable will have no voltage on that specific pin, and so your television will not switch to RGB mode and instead use c...

Re: Sega Saturn Freezing with custom PSU

I've had issues where original systems with the original power boards did the exact same thing. Unfortunately I did not have the equipment to test for voltage spikes. The odd thing is that the issue is somewhere in the MOTHERBOARD. I could swap out every single component with ones from a flawless un...

Re: Review of Sega Mega Drive/Genesis: Collected Works

It's a good book, but I wish they haven't wasted so much space on sprite sheets and such. That's just filler stuff. Also, a lot of the artwork in it have been released in hi res before, like the Monster World and Phantasy Star artwork. Those were all reused. I guess I'm just disappointed in that the...

Re: Yet Another Saturn Disc Drive Problem - Works, But Not W

Try connecting the modchip power to the positive leg of the C210 cap on the disc drive (it's the one immediately in the front of the unit). That way it'll get properly filtered power, which makes a lot of difference - I've seen modchips that only worked that way.

Try using CD Mage to do an error check on the bin/cue.
