Re: How has James Rolf (aka AVGN) influenced you as a gamer?
I always liked the AVGN, he was the first game reviewer I really watched. I still like his videos but by this point I'm more interested in seeing him do something else. I will watch the movie but I'm hoping that it will lead to more things for him.

Gameplay wise, it was. But did anybody say anything? Just look at The Witness, a game that isn't even out yet and it's already accused of being a Myst rip off. But TLOUs really didn't do anything to innovate third person shooters, all it's innovations were cut scenes. That doesn't make it bad, but ...

kid diagnosed w/ ADHD = Parents buy drugs Parents buy drugs= $$$$ Therefore, more kids w/ ADHD=more $$$$ That's pretty much it. There really aren't a lot more options these days the whole thing is just over saturated, there aren't any more good TV shows now then there were in the past but you defini...

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I think there is a double standard for Indie games: when somebody makes an indie platformer people say, "Oh look another Indie platformer that's original" it doesn't matter how good the game actually is. Nobody bothered to say anything about Bioshock Infinite just being another FPS or TLOU...

Re: Are gamers too entitled?
I think the surprise factor is still there, especially when you can discover an old game that you overlooked, I agree that at the end it is just different.

Re: Are gamers too entitled?
Can we all agree that it is generally hard to not compromise art with business? I think what Exhuminator said about designers/fans is true to an extent, somewhere along the line I think the fan service went over the top back in the day if you got a game like smash bros it was cool to see that a comp...
