Re: Games Acquired 2021

*high pitched surprised voice* Really? I thought besides translations, the games were exactly the same. Negative. The third game was deemed too easy and so was made more difficult to fit in line with the "Nintendo Hard" ethic: m I can completely vouch for this. The US version is so, so mu...

Re: [GUIDE/INFO] Flash Carts, ODE, and more!

I wonder if the price drop is to get ahead of KRIKzz's working on his own version? Will be interested to see if KRIKzz comes up with an attachment or something that works purely in the card slot.

Re: Wii: A failure

I probably waded into this at some point, but I'll still defend the Wii. Really dig it - lots of hidden gems, and perhaps Nintendo's best slate of first-party offerings since the SNES. (Yeah, I went there.) It also made for (and honestly still does) a great little emulation rig, and it's even capabl...

I'll settle for decent. I'd given up on that money.

Re: Is the RetroTink Multiformat the best inexpensive..

I ended up buying a 2X right before the Pro was announced. Doh! Don't use it much, but that's also because most of my retro systems are hooked to a CRT. It's still a great converter, and it looks miles and miles better with composite than my 4K TV. (Interestingly, this set does a fantastic job with ...

Even though we completed the deals over at HRG, I'll give a +2 here to o.pwuaioc. Excellent transactions both times, much appreciated!

Re: Big Sega Announcement on June 3rd

That's... huh. Yeah, a bit too small for me. I'd play it about as much as my Game Boy Micro... so almost never, and not for more than like five minutes. EDIT: Wait, seriously, there are only four games on each of these? So to get them all, you'd need to shell out a cool $200? And the screen is even ...

Re: Is this the only legit reason so go disk only? (Tiny hou

I toyed with the idea of taking games out of the cases and throwing those in a box in the loft, and using something like one of these:

I haven't done it, though. There may be cheaper alternatives, as well.

Re: Is there a generally agreed upon TV setting?

I will note that a Sharpness set to 0 is not valid for all sets. Some have varying values. For my TV (a Samsung JU6500), setting to zero is correct in Game Mode (or others), but not in PC mode. Some sets have weird values like 13 or 25, so do some research. There are test patterns to check sharpness...
