Re: Deus Ex- does it stand the test of time?
I don't think the first game starts slow at all. It throws you right into the action, choosing your method of entry into the statue of liberty. And it just gets better from there, throwing choices at you - giving you tons of avenues for exploration. I've finished it twice... And I really couldn't re...

Re: Shadow Warrior - and old PC FPS
Shadow Warrior is pretty fun. Not as well-balanced a multiplayer game as Duke, but still a great game. I spent ages trying to get a really buggy Glide patch for my Voodoo3 to work on it back in the day. It was super buggy and actually didn't improve the looks very much. Ahh, DOS days. As for Dads pl...

Re: Is it really over this time?
I'm a huge Duke fan. Duke 3D is one of the best multiplayer games ever. So it was like a cruel joke to be teased all these years... I agree with marurun: It didn't have to be perfect. Most games aren't! I would have still played the damn thing to death if it was just a fun, full-3d sequel to the ori...

Re: Is it really over this time?
I wish I could say its over but its unlikely. The fact is that Take Two has funded this fiasco to the tune of tens of millions. Their shareholders will demand some type of return on their investment. So the question is, whats next? I think its very likely that Take Two will farm out final developmen...

Re: Sins of a Solar Empire... wow.
Yeah, I haven't tried online yet. I barely know the game... I would expect to get raped fairly quickly - but then isn't that the way things start out in all online games? When I started playing Gears 1 on XBL I was destroyed. I was shocked - I considered myself pretty ok. It me at least a solid mont...

Re: Sins of a Solar Empire... wow.
Ryan, you mean Sins or Demigod? I would like to hear performance impressions of Demigod since there is no demo... I've heard its pretty heavy.

Re: Sins of a Solar Empire... wow.
How do you mean right click only? You select stuff with left, and move/attack with right. I'm not a RTS guy, so I guess thats non-standard? Demigod looks really good too. However, there is no demo. I'm hesitant to buy any PC game without a demo, since obviously it could run like shite on my system. ...

Sins of a Solar Empire... wow.
Hey, Its not retro-related but I had to pass on some impressions of Sins of a Solar Empire. Its a PC RTS/4X hybrid by Stardock. I picked it up online from Stardock for $30. This is an incredible game. I am not a fan of RTS games. I am a huge fan of Master of Orion-type 4X games. But Sins manages to ...

Re: Fatal Labrinth
I played this game a ton when I was a kid. I can't remember if I finished it. I'm appalled at how bad it seems now... Back in the day, there was a real desperation for any type of RPG, since not many made it over from Japan - so I played just about anything. Ugh.
