Re: Can we talk about 3DS models?

No. /thread Just kidding. I am almost certain on this but recalling from a few year back... DS games, when ran at native resolution (hold start upon booting) on a 3DS XL are almost the exact same size as the DSi XL. Meaning you have a DSi XL and 3DS XL in one without stretching games out to weird as...

I know, a 90s Commodore platform with no Turrican game is sad.

Re: PlayStation Classic

I'm surprised that Sony is releasing a Mini retro console as there are so many other ways to play original PSX games that I'd imagine it would just saturate the market and cannibalize Sony's sales. Like others, I'm gonna wait and see what the hacking community does with this. If external storage has...

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts

That's why I prefer GOG for the old games, as they are really good about having PDFs of necessary manuals and supplements and sometimes disable copy protection or have programs that simulate code wheels. I used to be nearly Steam only as in my experience the games are cheaper, and all my friends ar...

Re: Have you ever been dissapointed by the library of a cons

I'm surprised to see so many say the PS2. I always thought the PS2 was the best (not my favorite) console as the platform has games for every taste. I was rather disappointed with the PS Vita/TV. I bought one at GameStop on impulse for about thirty bucks with the intention to bypass the whitelist an...

Re: Games Beaten 2018

I haven't bothered keeping track of the games I've beaten this year (or last year), but I felt the need to rave about Loom for Windows. It was originally an MS-DOS title, but I played the Steam rerelease which is the 1992 CD version. I really dug this game as I liked its story-telling despite not kn...

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts

I'm getting really damned frustrated with the lack of necessary files like manuals and intros in the Steam releases of games. I just played Loom (a great game by the way) and was lost for most of the plot because the Steam directory didn't have the audio drama that serves as the setup for the game. ...

Re: Getting a Genesis collection going

I wouldn't say the soundtrack to Thunder Spirits is terrible. I just get the same desire to listen to the Genesis original that I do from Super Turrican (which uses some songs from Turrican III). Splatterhouse 2 & 3 are great. It sucks that the original was only ported to the TurboGrafx-16, but ...

Re: Getting a Genesis collection going

The biggest difference got me Brien Things Force III and Thunder Spirits is the soundtrack. The Genesis original just sounds so much better.

Re: Getting a Genesis collection going

Since Disney games were mentioned I thought I'd mention Aladdin. It's a different game than the SNES game, but is just as good or better, but that might just be my nostalgia talking. Shining in the Darkness is a first person dungeon crawling RPG unlike the related Shining Force games, but it's worth...
