Re: How's your TurboGrafx 16/PC Engine Going on
The kids and I played some PC Engine the other day. Mostly Ninja Gaiden for the TR thread and some Bomberman 94 for quite a while after. I started up Cho-Aniki when they left. My youngest came by again. At first he looks incredibly perplexed and asks, “What is THIS?” After a couple of minutes he say...

Re: Together Retro August 2020 - Birds are Jerks
I did some Ninja Gaiden again and it caught the attention of my three boys right when I started playing. They wanted to take turns so we did and I let them go in blind. I got to hear things like, “Why are all of your old games so hard?” and “I really hate those birds... no, I think I hate the dogs m...

Ninja Spirit is excellent as well. It makes me think that I'm actually good at the game before it starts pouring chaos from every direction and kicking my face in the mud. I love it.

Re: Together Retro August 2020 - Birds are Jerks
I don't check in to RB as often as I used to, but like pook, it's pretty neato to stumble on to a thread that's relevant to what I've been dabbling in lately. It's been Ninja Gaiden on PC Engine for me. And yes the birds are very jerk-ish. So are the dogs. So is everything else that triggers that un...

Re: Guinness is Falsely Copyright Claiming Hundreds of Speed
Gunniess just reinstated Billy Mitchell's records in their records. The wording behind their reasoning is completely unrelated to the reason it was removed. Their credibility was already questionable, but this is just so totally unscientific and unprofessional. SMH... Didn’t these guys used to make...

Re: Best Standard Controller of 8th Generation?
The left stick always felt like it was in the proper position on an Xbox controller. My giant hands always had my thumbs crashing into each other on PS1-3 whenever I had to use both sticks simultaneously. The PS4 is actually spaced out wider and nullifies that problem so it is a nice improvement, bu...

Re: What are the “classic” single-player FPS games?
Looking at my stuff, it doesn’t look like PowerSlave / Exhumed has been mentioned. It’s pretty good in the 32-bit era.
There’s also Left 4 Dead and the sequel. Those ones definitely encourage co-op but are very much playable in solo mode.

Re: Next-Gen Apathy
Current gen machines are more of a social tool for me. It gets harder to make time to physically interact with people as I get older. I can bounce on, play games and talk with family and friends, and have a few beers without having to get a ride home. Sure I can’t keep up with the current bests but ...

Re: Big Sega Announcement on June 3rd
Do people go to arcades anymore over there since this virus thing? I was thinking maybe that had something to do with it. Everybody else is making virus friendly products/services. They might as well cash in as well. Of course I could be way off. That may not be the only reason for doing it, but it...

If they’re doing hardware and/or a deeper partnership with Microsoft it’s probably something unspectacular like slapping Dreamcast 2 stickers on the Series X in Japan since nobody there will touch an Xbox.
