Re: Random Gaming Thoughts

The main difference now is really in the workflow. There weren't the kinds of dev tools there are now (i.e. Unreal Engine, Unity, etc), and most things had to be coded from scratch. Familiarity with the hardware was extremely important. Not to mention needing developers who could handle working with...

Re: Entry Level Genesis Games for a Sega Noob

The classified website I use has a sega saturn with a few games for sale for $220 CAD. This potentially isn't a 'can't miss' deal, depending on what the games are. I would probably recommend passing on it, really (that is if it doesn't include Panzer Dragoon Saga, Magic Knight Rayearth, Dragon Forc...

Yeah! I hope so too. It was sort of surreal watching that all play out.

Re: Games Beaten 2020

That's my fault, I was under the impression that Shenmue III would be the final release. I haven't read too much about it, and haven't checked any in-depth reviews, as I didn't want to spoil anything for myself. I was aware that it was originally in production for the Saturn, then the DC, but I did...

Re: Games Beaten 2020

7. Shenmue II (Sega Dreamcast) Nice! It's hard to say what the exact cause was, for me, but after I played the PAL version of Shenmue II, back in 2002, my Dreamcast pretty much stopped being able to read GD-ROMs. I sort of blamed it on the boot disc I was using to bypass the region protection, but ...

Re: Shenmue III Release Topic

Oh, snap! I just realized that the character embedded in the face of the clock graphic of the HUD actually changes depending on the game difficulty selected. They're drawn in a very 'Chinese' (for lack of a better descriptor) font, so I'm not sure what the one for Hardest is. I don't recognize it, a...

Re: Random Thoughts Thread

I believe a nice middle ground is that eBay should have an option where a seller will choose an auto-responder of denial for any offer that is "$X or less" that the seller will not even consider. Save seller time and frustration, and low ballers get their answer. This is what Ebay does. I...
