Phantasy Star is definitely not the most mechanically complex 8-bit RPG, but the story is on the better side and the graphics are unmatched and music is pretty top tier for that generation.

I borrowed the original from my library via interlibrary loan and it was pretty cool. Definitely more of a coffee table book than something people will go cover-to-cover with, but still cool.

It's been a while since the release of a lot of great games, and in that time other games have iterated on the model and ultimately done better. Many (many) years ago I had a chance to watch a couple Chaplin silent films with live organist accompaniment in an old theater, and the experience was actually pretty awesome. It's fun to think that the experience was similar to how those films might have been experienced back in the day.

I think I saw a remake of Bubblegum Crisis. Tokyo 2040 or something like that.
