Re: Gaming Like It's 2008
Out of those, I enjoy DS, LO, and NGII the most. Of the games you listed, these are by far my favorites too. Good taste! Vesperia was a surprising one for me. I've tried several times to get into the Tales games, and never stuck with them, but Vesperia actually hooked me. Having such a chaotic prot...

Re: September Together Retro: Welcome To Treasure Island
I'm glad you are playing Ikaruga, pierrot. It and Alien Soldier are the games I'd like to actually get a clear of this month, as despite loving both games, I've never really felt like I really conquered either. I also felt that the game feels more designed around Normal than either Easy or Hard, but...

Re: Do You Have Any Unpopular Gaming Opinions?
I like the main story of The Witcher 3, but the side missions were very ubisoft like. Capture the burrow, capture the camp, kill X do that. It was underwhelming, and being completionist, i could not help but just grind them out. It is a problem on my side, and it dragged the game for me painfully. ...

It is a hard watch, but there was something beautiful about the film stunning a crowd to dead silence for its entire runtime. The only noise from the crowd came from the unanimous applause at the end.

Saw Perfect Blue in theaters last night, having not watched it since I was 13 in 2001. Holy shit, what a film. Easily a 10/10 movie for me. They showed an interview with the director afterwards, too, which was really neat. For anyone that wants to see it on the big scren (For which this movie benefi...

I'm curious what you thought of these two! I really like DDA, probably my favorite DD game, and I've had my eye on The Mummy Demastered for a while, certainly looks good.

Re: Gaming Like It's 2008
I'm ashamed I missed a couple of '08 releases. Ninja Gaiden II: The best character action game ever made (imo, of course), and one of my favorite video games period Dodonpachi Daifukkatsu: Insanely good bullet hell shooter, another one of my favorite games. Probably goes without saying that these ga...

Re: Gaming Like It's 2008
Dead Space was released in 2008, and I only got around to playing it last year. Its really, really damn good, more than holds up. Persona 4 also came out (On the ps2, even!) in 2008, and is fantastic. Still well worth visiting. Animal Crossing: City Folk came out that year, too, and I'd say it's be...

Re: The Ninjawarriors Once Again
For anyone curious, this video shows all three versions of the game (Arcade, PCE, MCD) side by side. It also splits the audio of the ports between each ear, which is cool if you have headphones, as you can swap between them. I agree, the PCE port isn't bad at all. Being such a simple game, though, I...

Re: The Ninjawarriors Once Again
There was a 2-screen Taito arcade game called The Ninjawarriors, which did recieve a port to the Sega CD. The SFC game is a sequel exclusive to the console by Natsume. Does seem to be a common misconception, though, most likely due to the name change on the SNES release, plus the original game not b...
