Re: Games Beaten 2024

Overall, Tomb Raider is a very foundational game. While the Super Mario 64 style of movement ended up winning out overall, Tomb Raider helped codify much of the environmental interactions we see in modern games. It still plays reasonably well today, though you need to be prepared to learn to fit in...

Re: Games Beaten 2024

I'm still a little confused. So Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness contains a full remake of Castlevania 64? Featuring the same protagonists and settings? Is it an option on the menu, or something that becomes available after beating the main game? First game has two protagonists Reinhart and Carrie a...

Re: Games Beaten 2024

Woo hoo! Congrats on the best ending! I managed to get that one too, though all through dumb luck XD I had no idea it was a thing, so I was just spending as much money as I could and not really hurrying at all. I must've come in SO close to the line on both of them, but I'm not looking a gift horse...

Re: Games Beaten 2024

Have you tried the Castlevania Doom mod, Simon's Destiny ? FYI, if you didn't know, it's an IWAD so it can be run as-is. No, but it looks amazing. I'm currently running through every game in release order, but maybe I will come back to it! I personally felt that Legacy of Darkness was a WAY better ...

Re: Genre of the Month (JAN 2024 TR) - Plentiful Platformers

Sorry, it's been a minute since I was forum posting, so I'm not gonna do the fancy quoting. Agree with prfsnl_gmr Infernax is very good modern take on Castlevania. I'd say it takes inspiration most from Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. In my Castlevania run (chronological release order), I of course p...

Re: Genre of the Month (JAN 2024 TR) - Plentiful Platformers

I'm down! I already started a Castlevania run last year, and I am currently playing Symphony of the Night. It's deserving of it's vaunted reputation but another one that I recently played through that would be great for y'all to check out if you haven't is Rondo of Blood for the PCEngine CD. I playe...

I have oatmeal for breakfast nearly every day, so we buy them in 25lb bags.
