Thank you for purchasing Star Wars: Behind the Magic (tm).  We 
recommend that you read this file to get the most up to date 
information about installing, running, and navigating through
this program.

For additional information and in-depth technical documentation
about specific hardware, we recommend reading the Online
Troubleshooting Guide which can be accessed by clicking on
Readme & Troubleshooting on the Star Wars: Behind the Magic 
Launcher.

System Requirements
-------------------
 
 Computer:	100% Windows 95/98 DirectX compatible computer
		required. 

 Graphics Card:	PCI Graphics card required.

 CD-ROM:        Quad speed IDE or SCSI CD-ROM Drive required

 CPU:		Pentium 133 or faster required.

 Memory: 	16MB RAM required. (For optimum performance, 24MB
		recommended.)  

 Sound Card:	100% Windows 95/98 compatible 16-bit sound card
		required.

 Input Device:	100% Windows 95/98 compatible mouse required.
	
 DirectX:   	Microsoft DirectX 6.0 is available on this disk
		and must be installed to run Star Wars: Behind
		the Magic.

 Note:		Your system may require the "latest" Windows 
		drivers for your particular hardware.

INSTALLING Star Wars: Behind the Magic
--------------------------------------
Installation:
1. Close all open windows and quit all other applications.
2. Put the Star Wars: Behind the Magic disc in your CD-ROM 
   Drive.
3. If Autoplay is enabled on your machine, the Installer should
   automatically appear. If the Installer does not open,
   double-click the My Computer icon, then double-click 
   on the CD-ROM icon in the window that opens. If the Installer
   still does not open, double-click on the Behind.EXE file
   to run the program. 
4. Click on the Install Star Wars: Behind the Magic button and
   follow the onscreen directions to install the program on your
   system. 

 Behind the Magic needs to have DirectX 6.0 installed to run.
 During the installation of Behind the Magic, you will be prompted
 to install DirectX 6.0 if it is not already installed on your
 system. 

 Launching:
 Once installed, Behind the Magic can be launched by clicking on
 the Start menu and choosing Programs\LucasArts\Behind the Magic
 \Behind The Magic or by reinserting the disc in your CD-ROM drive
 (if Autoplay is enabled).  In the Launcher, click Start Star
 Wars: Behind the Magic to launch the program.
 
 (Note: Do NOT attempt to directly run the btm.exe file installed
  in your BTM directory.  Doing so may cause your system to
  lock-up.)
 
 If you have any problems installing or running Star Wars:
 Behind the Magic, please consult the Troubleshooting Guide,
 accessible through the Star Wars: Behind the Magic launcher.

Keyboard Shortcuts
------------------
 
 ESC			Closes the window that is currently open
			
			During a Video or Audio Clip: Cancels the
                        current clip being displayed or played

 SPACEBAR		Pauses a Video Clip

 Left/Right Arrow	Goes to Previous/Next Image in the Image
			Gallery and Behind the Scenes images

			Goes to Previous/Next Shot in the
			Scene-by-Scene Section

 Up/Down Arrow		Goes to Previous/Next Scene in the
			Scene-by-Scene Section
			
			Scrolls through selections in a list

 PageUp/PageDown	Goes Forward/Back 10 scenes in the
			Scene-by-Scene Section

			Goes to Next/Previous Category in
			Glossary, Behind the Scenes: People,
                        and Expanded Universe Sources

 ALT-F4			Quits BTM and returns to Windows	


Exiting
-------

 To exit, click the "Controls" button on the navigation bar at
 the bottom of the screen and click "Exit Program".

 
Desktop Color Palette
---------------------
 We recommend that you set your desktop to High Color (16 bit).
 When running Star Wars: Behind the Magic with your desktop set
 to a color palette other than 16 bit, you may experience various
 problems while running the program.


Task Switching
--------------
 
 (ALT-TAB) & (ALT-ESC)
 We recommend that you do not task switch while running Star Wars
 Behind the Magic.  

 
Printing
--------
 LucasArts will not be able to offer direct support for
 specific printers.  Behind the Magic utilizes standard Windows
 print functions, so if your printer is properly configured, you
 should not encounter any problems.  If you are unable to print
 successfully, your printer may not be set up correctly, and we
 recommend you contact the manufacturer of your printer for
 additional assistance.

 If you are experiencing problems when attempting to print, make
 sure that the Go to Desktop option is selected in the Star Wars:
 Behind the Magic Printer Settings window.

   If you need a hint, you may call our automated Hint Line. This
