Are you sure the SNES version runs in a higher resolution than the Genesis version? I checked some screen shots and they both seem to be running in 256x224 mode for NTSC. The SNES graphics have better color use and more detail, but the actual resolution is identical: standard SNES resolution and Genesis low-resolution.

I took a quick gander at your Genesis review of the game and was surprised to see no mention of Hitoshi Sakimoto's fantastic rendition of the soundtrack, possibly the only redeeming quality of any of the home ports.
