Most games have difficulty settings...very easy/easy/default/hard/very hard.

Psikyo uses (yes, I know this isn't psikyo) a different setting, I don't recall exactly, something like...baby/child/default/crazy/insane...something like that, too lazy to check.

Anywho, when Brad hit his hi-score I told him to change the settings of off baby.

Ah crap. It makes sense now!
I was confused when RSG responded like it wasn't sarcasm. I guess it would've helped if I knew the Psikyo difficulty scheme.

I've got 3 shmups to play after work now, damnit! This is going to be a frustrating evening.

so you guys have been playing this then, eh? Sigh. I'm almost at a loss trying to figure out which shmup to shmup with. Obviously I've been deeply into Deathsmiles, and a part of me wants to keep it at since I'm improving so much lately. But then there's a friggin' STACK of new shmups that have shown up in my collection (DDP Res included) that I haven't even booted up yet. Plus there's Radiant Silvergun for SOTM.

Having so many shmups can be a problem. I know that from experience. :P I ended up putting a few hours in to each game and essentially learning almost nothing and not increasing my skill level very much.

It definitely helps to pick one and stick with only that one (or maybe two if you must). Playing the same shmup for a month or two straight or perhaps until you can consistently 1CC it seems to help a lot. :D

I still haven't opened a few of the XBox 360 shmups I got almost a year ago.. But it's probably for the best.
