BioShock Infinite - PC
This game was amazing! It plays like a re imagining of the core ideas, in both gameplay and story, as the first game in the series. The gameplay is tight, the characters, story and lore are all amazing. The biggest let down is that the plasmids, or whatever they are now called, are fairly useless compared to the other games in the series and are mostly used to stun enemies.

I highly suggest you play the game on Hard, I did and still found it pretty easy, with a bit of challenge towards the end. It took me 9 hours to complete, which felt like a pretty healthy time for a single player campaign.

Really top game, it also has one of the best endings I have seen in a video game.

That was fast! I am about an hour in (game arrived last night) and am already impressed. I deliberately avoided any media about the game so I don't know what to expect...but if the early choice that initiates combat for the first time is any indicator I am in for a hell of a ride...

Yeah, I preordered it on Steam, however I am leaving for my Europe trip tomorrow morning (and had work today and yesterday) so I had two early morning gaming sessions to dig into it, really didn't want to wait 10 weeks to play it again, so I had to power through gaming rather than sleep.

8. Super Street Fighter 4: 3d Edition (3DS)

I have been playing around with this one for a while, but I finally sat down and beat it. It is a good fighting game, and while I think I enjoy it more than any version of Street Fighter III, I still hold Street Fighter II in the highest regard.

I used to be pretty good at fighting games 15 to 20 years ago, but I found out that I am bit rusty when I picked this up for the first time. I got back into my rhythm (a little bit...) with Ryu and Ken (and Dan) yesterday, however, and I was able to coast to the end on medium difficulty. (The third fight always gives me problems, however....For whatever reason, it is even more difficult than the "rival" fight and the final boss.) I am now going to turn the difficulty up to "hardest" and see if I can get through the game with a few of the other characters.

As an update...I finally got through SSFIV3D on the "hardest" difficulty setting. Most of the game was not that much harder than "medium", but the final boss (Seth) really brough the pain. I probably had to continue 100 times before I took him down...

That said...the challenge reinvigorated my SF game, and I feel prepared to take on all challengers at my local arcade!!!...wait a minute...there are no local arcades any more, are there... :(

It's RPG elements are really stripped away, it reminds me a lot of Half Life 2 in terms of the way the story is told.

The first game in the series is amazing, so for me it is hard to pick between Infinite and the Original, I liked Rapture more than Columbia, overall they stand toe to toe with one another.

1. Doom 3: The Lost Mission - X360
2. Doom 3 - PC
3. New Super Mario Bros. 2 (100%) -3DS
4. Phantasy Star Portable - PSP

7. GG Aleste - Game Gear
8. World Trophy Soccer - Genesis

14.Taz in Escape From Mars - Genesis
15.Shui Hu: Feng Yun Zhuan - Megadrive
16.Lords of Thunder - Sega CD
17.Maximum Carnage - Genesis

Another one down for Sega-16.

We were just talking about this a page or two back, but here it is again. My love for this game has never faded, and I must say again that its the sort of game where it feels really good to be good at it.

It only took me 2 lives to beat the final boss this time around, which is fantastic when you consider what a bastard he can be, and also the best I've ever done. If you begin that fight fresh from a continue, (as opposed to starting the level with whatever stock you built up or lost from normal progress) you begin with 6. I went in with 3, ended with 1.

I didn't even have to access the 6th and final secret room for more power ups during the fight, so I'm happy.

I did have to use two continues through the game, but I always use at least one, so that's typical for me.

Games Beaten in 2012 = 32
1/21 To the Moon (PC)
2/28 Kentucky Route Zero: Act I (PC)
3/12 The King of the Wood (PC)
3/14 The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings (PC)
3/17 The Darkness 2 (PC)
3/20 Persona 4: The Golden (Vita)

Games Beaten = 6

3/27 Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate (3DS)

OMG, I beat a game within a couple of weeks of it's release! That's rare for me. Mirror of Fate is excellent from start to finish and was almost everything I wanted from a handheld Castlevania game. This is a really great blend of the aesthetics and gameplay elements of Lords of Shadow and a traditional traverse a castle and kill things with a whip and backtrack once you unlock a certain skill that Castlevania games are known for. There are also little touches like getting Hearts for item ammunition and the random roasted chicken for health.

My only complaints are that it could've explained some things in the story better or at all. This coupled with the fact that the game could've been a bit longer (in the sense of, I wanted to play more of this fantastic game) and I think they could've used another act to have more gameplay and explain some of these story elements. Nevertheless I came away loving this game a lot.

1. Medal of Honor Allied Assault Spearhead - PC (January 2)
2. America's Army - Arcade (January 12) - 1cc!
3. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell - Gamecube (January 26)
4. Dragon Spirit - NES (February 7) - 1cc!
5. Final Fantasy - (by way of DoS) - GBA (March 15)
6. Wing Commander - PC (March 21)
7. *NEW* Medal of Honor European Assault - Gamecube (March 30)

A fitting end to the 3 MOH games that made their way to the 6th gen consoles. It's a shame I'm running out of FPS on the Gamecube at a rather rapid rate.

Company of Heroes PC
Super Mario 3D Land 3DS
Far Cry 3 PC
Mega Man 2 3DS
Resident Evil: Revelations 3DS
Fire Emblem: Awakening 3DS
Need for Speed: Most Wanted U WiiU

Mario Kart 7 3DS

I might actually like this game more than Double Dash. That's saying something. The kart modification is neat, and it's easy to see that Sonic All Stars Transformed took it's inspiration from Mario Kart 7, although it ran with the transformation concept much further than MK7 does. One thing I absolutely loved were the long 3 section tracks. I hope when the WiiU Mario Kart comes along, they run with that concept further. It almost gave a rally vibe.Thinking about it, with the gamepad serving as a map for a co-driver... Mario Kart Rally would be a neat concept. Or they could go back to Double Dash with the second player being able to do all sorts of things on the separate screen facing behind or something like that.

Anyways, it's Mario Kart, the online is fun, the single player took like 2 hours but was challenging enough on 150cc. It's nothing really groundbreaking for the series though.
