The New Dreamcast Shmups - Radiligy & Under Defeat

Post by racketboy »

Are any of you Dreamcast owners planning on ordering either Radiligy or Under Defeat?

I'm thinking about it, but not really sure. I might just wait until the reviews come in a bit more. The last few new shmups haven't excited me much, but there two look like they are unique enought to be worth a try.

radilgy doesn't look like its worth it, but if I had some steady income I would definitely order Under Defeat.

I've got a PAL Dreamcast, what would be the best way to play these imports? I assume that these recent releases are region protected?

the easiest would be get a boot disc.
you can also install a modchip if you wanted.
Or, you could wait for a rip to come out and then play that instead of your original.

Radiligy was most awesome. I have it. Though not the best shmup, it's worth a buy(or...to be acquired)
The Gameplay was basic enough, though with the graphic design, sometimes it feels like there is too much going on at once. And even more than that, sometimes I didn't even know what I'm shooting or collecting, though I was quite convinced that I was collect AOL triangles... yeah... Over all though, I think it entertained me for a day or two. 2.5/5

Radilgy feels too slow IMO - but Under Defeat is one of the best reasons in the world to turn your tv on its side

(although i havent done it yet :p )

I'll have to check out Under defeat if it's actually worth turning my 2-ton t.v. :P Seriously, though. I'll check it out. And you found Radiligy slow? hmmm... maybe.
