Having difficulties getting this to run with a Dreamcast SCART cable. :? I get sound and controls but a black screen. Anyone know any workarounds? Ideally I'd love to play this on my cab and not on a dreamcast controller in ghetto tate...

I do know that this is one of those games that didn't work with VGA cable. I have forced it to play via loading up the Cheats N Codes disc first to act as a VGA boot disc, only to find that the game then suffers slowdown that it wouldn't normally.

Might be able to try the PAL version, that was my workaround for gigawing iirc (gigawing wouldn't load with SCART, but the PAL release had a 60hz option that worked with SCART).

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.
Consoles: I have too much stuff
Arcade: No seriously, I have too much stuff. Someone grab a shovel and dig me out of my basement.

Alright, Gunbird, let's go!

Oh wait, no, no I suck horribly at Gunbird. This isn't gonna turn out well.

Thanks, I read the PAL ver supports 60hz, but neither of my Dreamcasts want to boot it for some reason :( The DC menu highlights "Play" so it recognizes it's game, but then it just always boots back to the DC menu
Wishing I just bought a board since they're cheap enough... if I knew I was gonna have this problem :| Bullet patterns are incredibly cramped in Original 1 and I've never liked the DC pad

Huh. I just burned a PAL copy and it played fine on my DC with a scart cable (didn't try VGA). I'll mail you one if you want to try it.

For what it's worth, if anyone in the tourney needs a copy of this or under defeat for dreamcast let me know now. I've got some CDRs laying around so just reimburse my postage cost would be all I'd ask.

477,300 - DocHauser - Model 3 - Stage 5 - Tavia - Shmupmame 4.2

I managed to no-miss the first 4 stages in a different run, but made a hash of Stage 5. The extend at 600k seems a long way off...
