Homing bullets work great. Takes care of those guys who come charging in, and you're damaging the boss. All you have to do is anticipate which direction the boss is going to move and dodge accordingly.

I might be stating the obvious here, but don't shoot when you don't need to. Your score racks up when you're not shooting.

It's weird, IDK how it happens, but certain combos give you "new" weapons. Somehow I ended up getting lasers that are aimed at the enemies.

I've been using the Vulcan and 5-Way shot, mostly.
