Great thread, and I haven't even posted any scores yet! I had to do some searching on the "AF3 AES $30,000 story" and what an adventure that was
Also, I'm trying to figure out the hierarchy of this "Sonic Wings Limited/Special/Whatever". Since there are different scoreboards, here is what I found, and if you want to verify this, go ahead. I had no idea about this entry in the series until the thread was created.
Sonic Wings Special is the Playstation/Saturn Japan-only release.
Sonic Wings Limited was the arcade port of SWS.
Aero Fighters Special was the Taiwan arcade only translated to English version of SWL.
Now, onto the scores with the 3 I know -
Aero FightersExedExes - 304,500 - 1-5 - Lord White - MAME
The last time I had played this in a real arcade was about 10 years ago, and it was in an old Contra cab, even the control panel and sideart was intact
Back then, I was a fan of Villiam, but I went through all 8 available characters here. 2P characters are accessible by hitting 2P start, and I find Lord White to be absolutely unstoppable.
Aero Fighters 2ExedExes - 420,400 - 1-5 - Cindy & Ellen - MAME
If you see the scoreboard, I played with all 8 characters here too. I got a good score with Spanky, but I gave C & E another try.
Aero Fighters 3ExedExes - 792,500 - 1-7 - Hi-En - MAME
I took the complete left hand side here. This came as a complete surprise, this performance.
As for Special/Limited, I gave it a try, but to me it was like "AF2 Bullet Hell". That I could handle, but the control seemed very non-responsive and laggy, not as good as the other 3 games were. I was getting a little burned out for I had been playing these 4 games for a good hour and a half, so I'll have to give that another try. It is good to be back to these.
