This game is definitely 1cc-able... but my deep love for Cave/Raizing shooters has me really wanting to put this board back on the market and look for a new shmup to dive into.

We'll see though, I may end up wanting to hang on to it for a bit.

Ultimately, that is what I am liking best not only about our monthly "TR" shmup but threads like these too. The "push" we all give each other to do better.

I agree on the 1cc. If I can get that extend in Stage 5, I have no doubt. The Stage 6 boss is laughably easy, but Stage 7 and the final boss would be good to have a life or two on (and I'd be getting an extend off of Level 25 easy at that point)

Say it aint so -- 19XX gone for Cav-izing? But I could see how much demand a great game like that would get

I thought that stage 6 boss was going down, but those quick bursts he threw just knocked me out.

Yeah, I love trying pretty much any kind of shooter where I can grind out some points, but when it comes down to it, I freakin love Cave and Raizing. Even if you put scoring aside, the presentation alone is mind-blowing. I freaking Looooooove Manabu Namiki's Music, both in Raizing and Cave. Their sprites are gorgeous, and whether upbeat and silly (Mushi, Deathsmiles), Dreary and Desperate (DOJ, Ketsui), or completely wonkers (Muchi Pork, Pink Sweets), it always seems to come across so well. I can't help it, I'm a Cave-iazing nut.

I am having fun with this one though, pushing off each other made me really experience this game, and I know I'll dive deeper into it someday. Sadly, its kinda getting the rebound action, as I just dumped the console stuff, and it was a whim purchase

Don't worry, I'll always play some Capcom shooters with ya Exed! And.... maaaybe Konami. Their games are way harder than Cave for the most part though :P

Even I have not scratched the surface of what Konami has to offer. They're WAY more than Gradius and Axelay!

Cave and Raizing always had *style* for sure. Can't pull me away from Batrider or 1944 that fast!

Still in awe over this latest 19XX performance tho

^Score from my buddy today.

I can't use Shinden at all.

In fact, i'm missing something major still - maybe it's just that I haven't had a single S rank yet, dunno - but i'm hitting stage 5 boss almost every run now and still only 1.1-1.3mil. I need to work on my boss kills - this is frustrating.

I get over 1mil from S Ranks on stage 3,4, and 5, so they definitely account for a lot of the points.

I did a run earlier and had 5.4m points, no S Ranks, just played for survival and grabbed a lot of medals. Also did not die until Stage 6, which probably helped.

Thanks! I've played it before, but I picked up a few tips from this thread and managed to improve on past performances by a fair bit...

By the way, did you happen to notice the score on the Gunbird thread? I think that one needs updating too :)

Heh, I actually saw the Gunbird thread bumped, but forgot that I was the one that started it

I'll go update it right now.
