It's also known as the Milestone Shooting Collection. It contains Radirgy, Karous, and Chaos Field.

It was the second biggest reason I got a Wii, actually. (The biggest being TvC, of course.)

Radirgy/Radilgy/Radruji/Radio Allergy (That is a LOT of names for just one game) is easily one of my favorite SHMUPS ever. Not too hard, not too easy, awesome music and a killer Jet Set Radio graphical style to it.
My Consoles:
Genesis - Nomad - SegaCD - GameGear - Sega Saturn - Dreamcast - NES - SNES - N64 - Gamecube - Wii - Playstation - PSone & LCD - PS2 - PS3 - Xbox - 3DS

Plus it's got a nice sense of humor to it. I like it when shmups don't take themselves too seriously.

The price dropped huh? I was interested in picking it up once it got cheap. Haven't seen a copy at any Gamestops in a while though.

Yeah. Some of the Wii budget shmups (i.e., Monkey King, Ocean Commander, and Saint) are not supposed to be very good, but the old school gamer in me cannot spending a few dollars for a physical copy of a 2D shmup on a seventh generation console.

I think the prices on Monkey King (which I know is terrible) and Saint have also dropped; so, I expect to pick them up soon.

Also, if Sin & Punishment counts as a shmup, then so does Counter Force. It is basically a N64-era rail shooter (literally...the graphics and textures are inexcusably crude).

(And, many thanks to EllertMichael for keeping this list up to date. It is forum topics like this that make this site such a great resource for classic gamers.)

SNK Arcade Classics Volume 1 has Last Resort.

Are you not interested in Virutal Console releases? I think you'd be amiss to overlook ones that are otherwise expensive like MUSHA and Ironclad.

Yeah I've been purposely steering clear of the VC console ports up until now. I do see how it could be helpful, though... they aren't really "Wii Shmups" so I don't know.
(I'm a huge MST3K fan btw :) )

Yeeeahhh... I've been torn about Sin & Punishment being on this list since I made it. It's more of an on rails light gun shooter than a by definition undeniable "shmup." it's borderline ...but it's just so fun!

What do you guys think?

Virtual Console releases on the list of Wii Shumps: Yay or Nay?

I'm going to say yes to both. S&P because it's a fun game and definitely a branch off the SHMUP tree and Virtual Console because I have points and absolutely no idea what to use them on. What are the top 3 or top 5 VC SHMUP's and why? I'm looking for the best, not necessarily just games that are normally expensive elsewhere. If you need to spin off this last part into a separate thread I'd understand.
