Best MVS Fighters

What are yall's suggestions for the overall best fighters on the MVS? I say overall meaning a balance of a good game with a reasonable price; knowing the NeoGeo, I assume there are some amazing fighters with amazingly high prices. I've got Double Dragon and Samurai Shodown, but since I'm not typically the biggest fan of fighters in general, I'm a bit ignorant as to what the really great games are out of SNK's gargantuan fighter library.

What do you consider a reasonable price?

The first World Heroes is pretty cheap if you like old school Street Fighter II-style knock offs. And I mean SFII, not Turbo. Some of the King of Fighters can be found for relatively cheap, as can some of the Samurai Shodowns, especially if you're willing to import. Beyond that...no idea.

The Breakers series is pretty solid, especially the sequel, Breakers' Revenge. I like the KOF series as well, and have a personal affinity for '98.

Also, you can't go wrong with the Real Bout series, and Waku Waku 7 is really fun.

Samurai Shodown II is one of the best fighting games. Its mechanics are deeper than the ocean; it is a tremendous amount of fun; and other than its predecessors (and, perhaps, Bushido Blade), there isn't really anything else like it.

Yeah, I guess "reasonable" and "affordable" are really ambiguous terms when you're talking about NeoGeo. I mean under $100 preferably but definitely under $200.

I've got Samurai Shodown II on my NeoGeo CD. I'd like to get into the fighting genre, and I figure that an actual arcade machine is probably the best way to do that. Then again, an arcade machine is the best way to do anything.

Which game in the KoF series would yall suggest I get first?

'98's great, but I liked '97 more. '03 is good if you're used to Capcom tag-team fighters.

KOF XI for the PS2.

Barring that, you can pick up KOF '98 for the NeoGeo...I guess...

Most the Sam Sho games before V are really cheap.

KOF games outside of 98, 02 and 03 are pretty cheap. 99 especially seems to be as common as grass.

World Heroes 2 is well loved and cheap too.

If you want the absolute best:
KOF'98
Last Blade 2
Waku Waku 7
Garou: MOTW
Samurai Shodown II
Samurai Shodown V Special
Real Bout Fatal Fury Special

This list is pretty legit. I'd add KOF 2002 and Rage of the Dragons to that list as well. Also, for shits and giggles, go ahead and add SNK vs. Capcom: Chaos.
