I played this at a buddies house the other night for a couple of hours. Wish I would have taken my stick, but the dpad worked great for most moves.

My recent experience with Garou: MOTW leads me to believe it should be up in this thread for sure.

MOTW and 3rd Strike are my two favorite fighting games of all time. So maybe I'm biased. But gawd, those two games are just gorgeous.

I think Third Strike is pretty impressive in animation and complexity, but I am not a fan of a few of the character designs, and I also think there were many characters who weren't up to par in competitive play, so I guess roster balance is an issue as well. I actually think Warzard is a little more visually impressive, though I can't speak to the actual fighting experience. It's so sad that Capcom basically stepped away from quality 2D animation after 3rd Strike.

Balance is an issue with any fighting game. But i'm curious as to which characters you believe aren't up to par in 3S.
I agree Red Earth looks better than 3S. But then again I feel 2nd Impact looked just as good as Red Earth and better than 3S visually speaking.

Nothing beats Joy Mech Fight for me.

Insanely old, insanely playable 2D fighter, so many characters, plenty of moves, awesome attract mode, awesome intro.

Is there a name for that "multisprite" style of animation, I know it pops up on Genesis Treasure games alot, but I'd love to read a whole article devoted to it...
