I'm waiting for ffxv, but for now I'm playing xiv with a custom 2014 roster.
I'm loving playing Madden without playing $60 every year.

agreed. I really like the engine, and am enjoying it plenty. Don't get me wrong, if EA was smart enough to make a new PC game, I'd probably have to jump at it. But I don't feel I'm really missing out either.

Is there any ETA on XV? I thought XIV only came out in Jan/Feb or something?

That's a cool subset.

A couple I'm actively working are:

Every NBA Jam game (Midway's family of NBA Jam games)
Every Tecmo Bowl game
Every EA NBA game (I'm there with this one, but not duplicating - one per year, not each for every console)
Every Dreamcast 2K game (done)

Glad I'm not the only sports subset collector.

I'm picking away at the following:
Every North American Sega Sports release
Konami Track & Field / Olympic games
Classic Tecmo sports games (basically any that have "Tecmo" in the title - Baseball, Golf, Bowl, etc)
T&E Soft golf games
(pre-Tiger Woods) PGA Tour games
Bases Loaded
NBA Jam
Blades of Steel
All Tandy sports cartridges
and perhaps some others I'm forgetting

NBA 2k2 can honestly be the best basketball game of all time.

Love the 2k menus. Every game is the same. So easy to get into the game.

Played Madden 15 yesterday with my bro and FIFA 15.... Its like there's 5 different menus u have to go through in order to play. Same company (ea) but different interface.

I was wrong, I was using XIII, I now have XIV. This is the roster I am currently using, it looks updated to me: http://www.footballidiot.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=16673

maybe EA hates PC gamers, but 2K is bringing it hard w/ NBA 2K15 this year promising "next gen" visuals for PC. I was already excited, but this trailer w/ A Tribe Called Quest just made me giddy.

Just went through HAL's Hole In One Golf (SNES) -

Although +2 isn't all that bad, I could have maybe done better with the putting. But with only an overhead view to go by, it can be deceptive because you don't see straight ahead of you. Just trust the directional guide, the club suggestions (except for a few holes) and always swing well.

Super Mega Baseball for PS3/PS4 (cross-buy too) has gotten rave reviews (Polygon's sports game of the year).

It's essentially a modern day Baseball Stars with really cool pitching and hitting mechanics.

I've only played one 5-inning game so far and it really kept my interest.
