Favorite traditional 2D platformers?

I've really been in the Mario, Sonic, DKC kind of mood thesedays, so I'm curious to see what you guys would list as your favorites. Figured I'd narrow it down a bit, really just looking for the basics where you basically... just jump on things and run through stages. Maybe there's some I've missed over the years.

I just ran through Super Mario Bros 3 and World again and it was a blast, been ages since I've done a full run of them. I'm assuming Super Mario Bros Advance 2 is the All Stars version of SMB2? Hopefully that comes to the VC, always been a fan of that one. Maybe I'll hit up SMB1 again haha.

So are you looking only for hop-n-bop types or are other mechanics okay?

Well for other mechanics, I don't mind some powerups and stuff like the Mario games have. Some little things here and there that might help you take out enemies or change things up is fine.

Just wanted to distinguish the difference a tad, I'd say Megaman is the type I'm not really looking into right now. Castlevania is another.

Warioland : Shake it!
A Boy and His Blob
Any Rayman game except Rayman 2.

Negative. Super Mario Advance 2 is Super Mario World. Super Mario World, by the way, is an all-time classic.

I remember playing Warioland : Shake it!, it definitely seemed cool.

Huh, maybe I should hit up that DuckTales remake!

Rayman origins and legends are both awesome platformers that have come out recently.

You've played the Little Big Planet games haven't you? If not those are awesome as well.

Have you played SMW2: Yoshi's Island? Or the Yoshi's New Island for the 3DS? Those are fun.

I second that.
