Me and a friend rage quit Discord's voice call service and unplugged our headsets and used in game text chatting. B.Net voice chat is definitely better. I was looking at steam controllers and would think of getting one if it had a 2nd analog stick below the right pad. I'm eventually going to order a Xbone controller for FPS games and thinking of an 8bitdo usb snes controller for emulators.

The touchpad works just fine once you adapt, just turn on high haptics. there's always gyro also and paddles in back
Using a controller on pc to play fps Is blasphemy though fam.
Also weird, I've never had a single issue w anythin discord related. It's also almost replaced my needs for forums entirely. That and reddit

Ever since Halo on the first Xbox I needed 2 analog sticks to enjoy the FPS genre. My mouse is also something most people don't use, I use a track ball mouse to reduce the pains in my hands/wrists compared to a regular mouse. Still need to get a mechanical keyboard

Trackball mouse for FPS is viable for a kb+m setup. Controller sensitivities just don't fly. Unless you're not playing twitch FPS.

I still plan on doing most of my modern fps gaming on my ps4. PC is more I want to mod Fallout New Vegas and play older games like FEAR and Crysis. I have Warhammer: Vermintide 2 but quit playing it after the tutorial until I order a Xbone controller. Dunno, the older you get the less you like change But specwise my PC definitely blows my PS4 away

Fair enough. If it works well enough that you can spin 180 degrees and then dodge and push an incoming Gutter Runner on Veteran, then it'll work. I haven't played Vermintide 2 in a bit though; I should consider going back some time.

Couldn't care less about chat or modern shooters.
What I truly want is a PC most ideal for Skyrim. Much research to do on whether it favors Intel or Ryzen, AMD or Nvidia, and all.

Lum fan.

Skyrim is old enough you should be able to do that on a pretty modest budget.

Skyrim Special Edition requires a bit more hardware over the original. keep that in mind.

Kind of a related question, that I don't think needs it's own thread- I got a gaming laptop for Christmas with a GTX 1050. How long can I expect that to last? I only want to reach 1080/30, so I'm not shooting super high.
