Station 37 is a firefighting game, which makes it instantly unique. Your opponent isn't a human or monster, it is a raging inferno. Well, technically this idea has been done one other time before (that I know of ) on an obscure PS2 title called Firefighter F.D. 18, but the two games are still very different. Station 37 is a blend of 2D action platformer and puzzle game. It's really a clever idea and you'll love the super nintendo style graphics.

SNES had "The Firemen" (Europe only) and Ignition Factor. I'm pretty sure there was an arcade fire fighting game too. The name escapes me (was super fun!)

This game looks really cool though and I will definitely try it!

Knights of the Chalice

Image

Knights of the Chalice is old school, almost to a fault. The game is downright ugly, but it makes a sincere effort to bring Dungeons & Dragons rules (v. 3.5) to a CRPG. The turn-based D&D gameplay has been compared to The Temple of Elemental Evil. I found out about it because the developer of Barkley: Shut Up & Jam Gaiden said he was impressed with the game mechanics. It's definitely not a game you play for the graphics, and you'll largely be filling in the blanks of the story for yourself. This is an RPG for people that love deep RPG gameplay and have the imagination to look past the ugly graphics and to role play their own story. This game won GameBanshee's award for the best indie RPG of 2009.

Be Good

Claymation!

Everybody loves claymation, right? Every game that has been made with clay that isn't a Clayfighter game has been good... in other words, just the Neverhood is good... Ok, so, maybe that statement isn't as broad sweepingly impressive as it sounded. There's just not many claymation games out there.

Nevertheless, this is a little student project that isn't a game in the traditional sense, though it's a bit of an adventure game with little choice points. You play out a person's life in a series of short vignette's animated in clay that can be different based on the choices you make along the way. It's simple, but interesting.

Ever wonder where Valve got those great ideas for the different gels in Portal 2? Well, this is the answer to your question. They were so impressed with Tag: The Power of Paint that they hired the people behind this Digipen student project and put them to work on Portal 2.

Thanks for keeping this thread JT I really enjoy looking at all of these free games. I dislike piracy for my games and this is a nice alternative when I'm low on cash or just want to try something quick.
Thanks everyone...

This is a first person adventure game. No weapons, just puzzle solving and adventuring. The graphics are fantastic. If you like it, you can leave a donation. Otherwise it's free.

Firemen came out in Japan, so that makes it easier to obtain and play. :)
