20 NES Games, Most CIB, Many Rare

by Dr. Corndog Sat May 12, 2012 8:30 am

A friend of mine asked me to auction off his NES and games for him. I was surprised he even had an NES, or at least the types of NES games he had (he's 74 years old). Zelda, Dragon Warrior, Final Fantasy; he's played them all.

Here's a link to my auctions: http://www.ebay.com/sch/chocolate_socks/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686.

Here are the auctions I'm listing:

NES Console
Comes with 3 controllers, a Zapper, all the cables, and 8 games. Yes, it still works. Quite well, actually. The games include SMB/Duck Hunt, SMB3, and Mega Man 4.

NES games
Final Fantasy w/ box
Dragon Warrior w/ box
Dragon Warrior II CIB
Dragon Warrior III CIB
Dragon Warrior IV w/ instructions and both charts
King's Quest V CIB
Faria: A World of Mystery & Danger CIB
The Legend of Zelda CIB
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link CIB
Ultima Exodus w/ box
Castlevania II: Simon's Quest w/ box
Tetris w/ box
Wheel of Fortune: Junior Edition CIB
Talking Super Jeopardy! CIB
The Chessmaster CIB
The Black Bass CIB
Hoops CIB
Alien 3 w/ box
Battletoads cart only
Kirby's Adventure cart only

NES Strategy Guides
Dragon Warrior IV
The Legend of Zelda: Tips & Tactics (Apparently this was a pack-in with the original release of the first Zelda; someone correct me if I'm wrong.)
Ultima Exodus
Beyond the Nintendo Masters and Nintendo Games Secrets Volume 3 (combined auction)

Thanks for looking!

Edit: I realized that I don't have 25 NES games, but 25 separate auctions. I changed the topic title to reflect that.

Sorry I shouldn't have to read in a for sale that there isn't something for sale at the time.

That's like going to a car dealership, seeing the perfect car and being told. "Hey guy, that's not for sale til later"

Makes no sense to put up a for sale thread if at the time nothing is for sale. Period.

Well that's not fun that you started so high on some of the auctions

No, it's more like reading in the paper that there's going to be an estate auction on Saturday, and showing up Tuesday and expecting them to let you start bidding. That's basically what you're trying to defend.

The auctions I started high on typically sell for even higher than where I listed them.

Good luck w/sales.

To note and to protect yourself, be careful using the word "complete" on a lot of those games, as it looks like a few them that should have maps, do not.

I'll check those out. Based on other auctions I've seen, "complete" is regularly used to mean that the box and instructions are included, regardless of whether anything else originally came with it. But you're right that I want to be careful.
