I'm dangerously close to buying an Atari 8-bit system myself (probably an 800 or XL).

I'll be your enabler. Definitely buy a stack of 5200 games. It's a fun system with some of the best arcade ports of its time.

I'd buy them! To me it typically seems easier to get a hold of systems as opposed to lots of games. My thinking would be that you'd have a much easier time coming by a 5200 later on, than the games you'd be passing up now.

I remember owning RCA SelectaVision Discs for years before I was able to find a player for them. LOL. Glad I got the discs when I did though.

Bought the 3DS XL with Mario & Luigi, thanks for the advice guys. Had fun just playing with the AR cards. I admit those little mini games on the ? AR card wouldn't focus for me and it started hurting my eyes. Can't wait to dive into some games though.

Yes I think so. A good mix of fun games around $3-10 and more expensive ones that won't break the bank ($20-50). Plus I have one to sell you if interested :D

Crazy Taxi
Virtua Tennis
Sonic Adventure 1 & 2
Shenmue
Jet Set Radio
At least half a dozen great fighters from Capcom and SNK
Resident Evil: Code Veronica
Cannon Spike
Power Stone 1 & 2
Skies of Arcadia
E.G.G.
House of the Dead 2
Sega Bass & Marine Fishing (trust me they're awesome games)
Virtual On
Hydro Thunder
Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver
Dead or Alive 2
MDK2
Soul Calibur
Metropolis Street Racer

And if you can't afford to buy games at all, the Dreamcast will play back-ups right out of the box without modding it. (Sssshhhhh.... don't tell Sega!)

They aren't "back-ups" if you don't own them. :P

Good catch. I've gotten so used to not talking about "ROMs" on forums lately, I've just started calling everything back-ups. LOL.

They are back-ups of someone's game somewhere though? LOL.

But, doesn't playing "back-ups" wear out the DC?
