The ongoing "AWESOME INDIE BUNDLE!" thread

by J T Wed Jan 25, 2012 10:28 pm

As I'm sure you've noticed, indie bundles have become kind of a "thing". Since there are so many of them now, I thought we could have just one thread for all of the bundle deals that come along.

To start it off, Indie Royale has a new Serious Sam Pack that will only be around for a few days:

The bundle includes:
Serious Sam: The Random Encounter
Serious Sam: Double D
Serious Sam: Kamikaze Attack
Serious Sam: The First & Second Encounter
Serious Sam: The Greek Encounter

Awesome thread idea, J T! Just got into using Steam recently and I need to stay in the loop!

The AGS Bake Sale Bundle

http://www.agsbakesale.com/

•9 Months In, by Tzachs, Noavana, and gameboy
•Abner The Amazing, by poc301 and LocutusOfBored
•Barn Runner: The Rich Dame Who Cut The Cheese, by Ponch
•Ben Chandler, Paranormal Investigator - In Search Of The Sweets Tin, by Grundislav
•Entrapment, by Lightbulb Games
•Escape The Barn, by Cat
•Falling Skyward, by ThreeOhFour
•Fragment, by Kaputtnik and ThreeOhFour
•Indiana Rodent and the Raiders Of The Lost Cheese, by Crystal Shard Games
•The Rail, by Technocrat
•RAM Ghost, by Ghost
•Red Volition, by Richard Hofmeier
•Retina, by Dualnames
•Zombie Attack, by ShiverMeSideways

I'm betting you probably haven't heard of any of those games before, which is fine, because they are all games designed specifically for this bundle. AGS provides a useful utility for amateur game designers to make games on, and now those designers want to give back, so ALL proceeds from the AGS bake sale will go to the Child's Play charity. The games are all "pay what you want", but you need to at least cover the $1.50 minimum.

I gotta say, I feel like Humble's used up all the good indies already. The new bundles coming out never have any games that interest me. (and half the most recent Humble Bundle is just repeats!)

Ya, Indie Gala hasn't had that strong bundles. However, I feel Indie Royale is having great bundles. They have actually launched a bunch of games on steam specifically for those bundles which is freaking awesome.

But really, as long as it has one game I don't have I'll buy it too support the devs / charity / distribution system.

I only got the first Indie Gala; I was kind of tempted by the Serious Sam one but they should've really got 1+2 HD instead of the originals. I definitely don't just buy every bundle though! I'd feel like those people on Hoarders, just with games. (Shit, I already feel that way sometimes)

Game Music Bundle 2 is out now and there are some AMAZING soundtracks in here

Pay what you want and you will received soundtracks for:
1. Jamestown (really, this is all you need to know, but it gets better)
2. Aquaria
3. Sword & Sworcery
4. Machinarium
5. To The Moon

Pay $10 or more and you will also receive:
1. Shatter
2. Eternal Daughter
3. Cat Astro Phi

...and a bunch of other games I'm not familiar with. Seriously though, I would put Jamestown and Shatter in my top list of all-time greatest gaming soundtracks. This is a great buy.
