THQ's Summer Sale

by jfrost Sat Jul 17, 2010 3:22 am

THQ is having a pretty awesome sale until Monday. Quoting the Digital Distribution Deals blog:

Digital Distribution Deals wrote:THQ is having a summer sale, with many titles up to 75% off.
Sale is on now through Monday, July 19.

Click here to check out the full list.

The downside is that THQ is one of the few online stores that limits your downloads severely. You get to download the game now, but if you want to be able to download it again in the next two years, you’ll need to pay $5 for their “Extended Download Service.” After two years, you’d better have it backed up somewhere.

But, a few of their games can be registered to a Steam account. Problem solved. No “Extended Download Service” fees needed.

Metro 2033 – $49.99 — $12.50
Saints Row 2 – $19.99 — $5.00
Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War II – $29.99 — $7.50
Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War II – Chaos Rising – $29.99 — $7.50

Yeah it is, it's like FEAR 2 and Dawn of War 2. You have to have Steam otherwise you can't install the game.

I bought the THQ complete pack from Steam when it was £27 so I've got all the games they're selling anyway.

I'm fighting against the urge to buy Metro 2033. Too many little debts already.

Don't. It's an awesome game, you won't regret if you are a fan of atmospheric FPS games that have survival elements. If you like Stalker you will absolutely love Metro 2033. Dare I say it, I actually enjoyed Metro 2033 a lot more, even though it doesn't have the same freedom that Stalker gives you.

It's worth it for the atmosphere alone in my opinion. If you have a DX10/11 capable card you will be blown away by the graphics. It's simply gorgeous to look at.
