My apologies if this topic does not suit this post. I found this short clip rather informative.

This was pretty cool. I am embarrassed to admit that I've never played a Darkstalkers game. I think I'll burn a PS1 ISO later and give it a whirl to see if I like this. Which would you recommend?

If you have access to a Dreamcast, I highly suggest getting the ISO for Vampire Chronicle for the best Darkstalkers experience under a tight budget. RDC group released a stellar version of the game some time ago with some amazing boxart to boot! Here's the link if interested

I also provide a review of it for anyone curious about the game

Beat me to it.
If you don't have a Dreamcast, then Darkstalkers 3.

Well he specified Ps1 so yeah.

Personally, I'd just play Vampire Savior on Saturn.

I didn't know it was on the Saturn. How does it differ from the PS1 version? I want to play the original and the best.

Well the original would be just be the arcade version. Saturn version has the same benefits that most Capcom fighters on it do. More animation frames, less loading, etc. It requires the RAM cart though.
