You hate women if you don't fund this kickstarter!

by Erik_Twice Sun Mar 24, 2013 11:20 am

They said she couldn't! And your money will prove them wrong!

With the approval of all your favourite game journalists! You don't hate 9-year old hardcore gamers just because her mom is insanely rich do you?

http://www.destructoid.com/nine-year-ol ... 9327.phtml

Apparently the mom is already known for trying to get funds under the name of Occupy Wall Street.

But Kickstarter won't pull it down because they don't want to be knownas haters of feminism. Go women!

Meh, not even worth acknowledging, really.

Isn't this sort of thing against Kickstarter's TOS though?

Yes. But I doubt they will take it down for fear of backlash.

"Kickstarter does not allow charity, cause, or "fund my life" projects. Check out our project guidelines for details." If that's not enough for you, she says: "My favorite PS3 game right now is Dragon Age II.". I think the project is doomed now.

Well, from the OP title and my opinion about this, I am basically hate women :D .

To tell the truth, why is this in kickstarter? This is basically a charity to this little girl which in reality can be use as stealing money from people who think the girl will go to the camp to make a game just to prove that her brother is wrong. Also, are the people who did give some money to the little girl going to play the game the little girl is making?

Kickstarter use to be useful way to get some money for independent production team who don't really have the money to build what they're trying to build. Now, it's turning into something what kickstarter not suppose to be now.

I was actually trying to find a thread about this. I guess 4chan is pretty pissed off about this and has been reporting the kick starter for the past few days. Hopefully it will get taken down. She had also been spamming twitter which is also against ks rules.

Here's a blog post about it from destructoid that actually calls out the bullshit.

What makes it a scam? The fact that those folks are rich enough to fund this on their own?

It's no worse than the YouTube clowns who brag about the thousands of dollars they've spent on rare video games, yet when the final turd drops they suddenly "need" a few grand from "the fans" to print some DVDs, "upgrade to HD", etc...

I think Kickstarter is a wonderful website. It has proven to be incredible useful over the past couple of years. But this type of stuff should not be allowed.
