SFII SNES Re-Issue & The Vinyl-ization of Retro Games

Post by racketboy »

So Capcom is working with iam8bit to re-issue Street Fighter II on the SNES.
It's a special edition to be retailed for $100.

I could see this being a trend with future retro re-releases just like the music industry saw vinyl re-issues become a much more common.

Eventually, maybe we will also see official console re-issues with HDMI outputs too. One can wish, right?

Whoa this is really cool. If I had the disposable cash I would go for that Blanka glow in the dark cart. Here's to hoping they do this with Mega Man X!

This would be better if it wasn't a game Capcom ported to every platform possible, many of which are better than the SNES.

It's cool, very much so but not 100 cool. Given it's the same people who helped them with DuckTales I shouldn't be surprised Capcom went for it.

Throwing words like collection around does that mean more to come?

Would have been better if it were Turbo.

Not even I'm biting on this one. $100 for Street Fighter II on SNES? No thanks, I can get that for less than $10 easy.

Seems like a terrible value next to the 25th Anniversary box, which was pretty great, even at $150.
