Kickstarter is now huge when it comes to boardgames so I'm not surprised at all. The industry should seriously consider this kind of funding or stuff like GMT's P500 where they ask people to back a game similar to pre-ordering and when they reach 500 units they print it.

Hmm, yeah that's an interesting concept. Didn't realize that boardgames used Kickstarter so much too.

Also of note, is Double Fine added an old school PC boxed edition for the $100 tier. So tempting.

The $100 also has the downloadable stuff, a blu-ray or DVD of the documentary, an exclusive t-shirt, and a signed poster. Keep that stuff around for a few years and resale value could let you pay your "donation" off

Well, it's a new thing and kind of a fad/bandwagon thing right now but I think it will be integrated sooner or later. The P500 model is far older but it has been very succesful for niches like wargames.

The superiority of the master pc gaming race arose from those huge pc boxes.

Please tell me someone else saw that UStream video for the final two hours. Shoes were placed atop heads and insanity ensured. Tim Shafer even promoted piracy of DotT and FT.

I.. I think I didn't donate to this one. Gah. I need to keep better tabs of my ... dammit, where did it all go?

Yeah, I would have liked a copy of this game, but I wasn't paying $100 for my hardcopy. (Even if it did come with a tee.)

Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

It has gotten 200K since yesterday, they will make it. And glad I am, because even if I'm not particularly interested as of now, I really like how this bussiness model caters to niches.
