Surprise, surprise.

Back to the earlier topic that I missed, King of Kong certainly isn't the only thing that made Billy Mitchell out to be a dick. Go watch any of his videos and interviews - he's an egomaniacal asshole. Perhaps it's a joke to him, but there's a reason why people dislike him.

The two Donkey Kong titles are now the only records he has (the Pac-Man perfect score has been done almost two hours more quickly now). Coincidence that he only jumps to the challenge when someone else bests him, huh?

Whenever he has the chance, to push the limits of gaming? Did you even read the article?

'Mitchell evidently quit his Donkey Kong game immediately after beating Chien's mark. Asked why, Mitchell said: "Some say I'm being cocky. Some say I'm being lazy. I say, I'm being Billy Mitchell."'

He seems totally aware of how much of an asshole he is.

I sort of like his attitude in a "sorta funny from afar but I'd probably punch him if I ever met him in real life" kinda way.

I think he's completely aware of his persona. He likes the attention, whether it's negative or not. I'm just saying that no one should be surprised when the attention is negative. He's a friendlier guy than King of Kong made him out to be, but he's every bit as self-centered and arrogant as every single article and interview about him makes him out to be.

Yeah, I read the article. I just interpreted it as him fostering competition, and to make it look like it's no big deal for him to score that high. I think his quote is pretty funny. It's just so asinine.

Though, I interpreted what you said wrong. I thought you were implying that he cheats every time and that there is some conspiracy to keep him at the top.

that quote is just awesome. an asshole always makes things interesting and exciting. if he was just some laid back, quiet dude nobody would care about who beat whose record. he definitely makes competitive gaming worthwhile and fun to keep track of.

billy mitchell is the man.
if you took a shit, please put it back
